NEWBIE QUESTION : What is ANN Thread?

Appreciate if someone can explain what does it mean by ANN Thread? What does it take to get the ANN?

ANN thread means Announcement thread. If some like to Announce their project on bitcointalk they are making ANN thread like ICO, Exchange and gambling. They are creating Announcement thread here to increase awareness about their projects. ANN thread doesn't mean that projects are affiliated with this forum. Anyone can create ANN thread here especially for any crypto related projects. Even you could create any ANN thread and you don't need any special requirement for that.

And your second question "what does it take to get ann" well it's a typical noobs question you might have probably gotten the meaning of Ann wrong prior to now.

The explanations given above has actually define the actual meaning of ANN Thread, but will like to address the second question.
The only thing it take for you to create your ANN Thread is knowing how to use the forum Text Tools for Text formatting. These were many questions i did ask many months ago and was able to find some answers after some time on the forum. If you intend to render service on the forum you must be able to create your own ANN Thread or to sell a product, also, when you are promoting project on the forum, you need an ANN Thread. Also, some of these thread on the forum were created by little knowledge of HTML.

Actually it is BBCode not HTML. BBCode tags are used to format your post. It is basically the same principle but the syntax differ.
You can't insert HTML code ,directly, in your post for security reasons.

What does it take to get the ANN?

Every single member can create his own ANN thread if you have a service to offer like program or software, campaign management, development and other things that you can announce through that thread. ANN thread isn't just for those ICOs, altcoins, casino's, etc.

It's for everything.

An ANN topic is a thread where the OP announces about an upcoming cryptocurrency project.

It is considered a good practice to have your own thread explaining how your project will become and have some sort of giveaways for the new people that will help you boost up your crypt coin's price.
