Real life gambking can easily be implicated by either rigging the games so that players has lower chance to win. Every system has pro (advantages) and cons (disadvantages) and it is difficult to assume that since online system cannot be fair, so it is not good. There are many online gambling site which have thousands of users who play there and trust their system too. The next step for Blockchain Ecosystem is to introduce decentralized gambling. |

First of all this should be at Gambling Discussion (reported).
It is basically the main advantage of blockchain based casino compared to traditional casinos. The use of provably fair system for the result gives players more confidence to play because it is verifiable so it will be easy to know whether the site is cheating or not. On other side, traditional casino(land based casino) or even fiat gambling site with no provably fair system is still being used many many people in this world. Smart gamblers needs to leave those casinos with no provably fair system imho. Once the traditional casinos noticed why most gamblers are moving to blockchain based casinos then I believe that traditional casinos will start to adopt the blockchain technology to be implemented on their games.

Online gambling has boomed these last years and with introduction of crypto even more.You don't risk to get involved in a fight for little or no reason when playing from home which can happen if you are playing in a real casino.

I have a relative that works in a local casino and he advises me not to ever play in a casino because the whole gambling system is rigged.
It is more advised to gamble in online casino that it is built on a blockchain because it is more fair that the real casinos. Online gambling can reform the industry but in a positive manner for the gamblers' side.

From what I understood, it's like a transition from traditional gambling to the online age and having that, there would be no physical criminal acts. If that's what you are trying to say, then I don't agree completely because as a matter of fact, there are more people doing traditional gambling, knowing that they are capable of controlling people in real life. I feel like this article is nice but late for a couple or years at least. Blockchain has already changed the gambling industry. The article is right that the fairness of the game is an important feature, but while the article mentions a problem of gambling addiction at the beginning, blockchain does not help with it in any way. As for other advantages of blockchain, one does not have to meet real and potentially criminal people to practice the skills or to try luck at gambling. Privacy is another thing, but it can be thought of as both an advantage and a disadvantage.

For this to work you will be needing a lighting fast blockchain, players need to be able to make a new bet each second, so the blockchain needs to be so fast that theirs no waiting time. I don't think the ETH blockchain is the correct blockchain for so fast transactions. I think the EOS blockchain would be a better guess for fast smart contracts.

Addiction cannot be changed because it is related to one's personality in, it is very difficult to talk about addiction and fraud because it can still be done anywhere, anytime and as sophisticated as it is, hopefully it can be changed quickly by finding a very good anticipation, then we just waiting when it appears in gambling to overcome all the problems that exist today.
