I'm sure that cockfighting takes place in more countries than we are aware of, but most of the time it is hidden from the general public's view.

To be specific that's not happening in my own country as i have never heard anybody mentioned it to me. One would say that, this type or kind of fight could be such that will be restricted to some age or that which is done secret and not public. In my country, if such thing is fond, there will be a penalty for the organizer of such competition as our culture is against such practice..   

it could be because your folks use different pets say dogs or horses. i'm from Philippines and we all have these type of entertainments, it could be brutal to you but these are fun to watch just as the matadors in Spain. Probably they didn't see any fighting cocks,which are so brave and even I am afraid of going near but the people who train it live with them and care them as a kid.Some people will cheat the games by giving medicines before the game but once it's been caught they will never allow that person for playing.

Why? because this event is one of the old gambling activities way back and up to present. In the Philippines I know right now cock fighting is legal and many men who are addicting to this traditional gambling.

Makes no sense on a site made by Satoshi Nakamoto aimed at crypto discussion. This was something that used to be seen in far flung villages on the country and now unknown to the kids. People here are not discussing on cock fighting, but they are discussing of the cock fighting betting in the gambling section which is totally relevant and nothing wrong with it.
By the way, I never like these cock fights betting neither do they happen in my country. I first learnt about them through youtube video.

For now there are no betting sites that offer crypto as the medium for betting in cockfighting but who knows someday they will offer one. You can only bet on fiat at the moment on online cockfighting but limited only in countries where cockfighting is legal.

Thank you for the reminders yeah I have been reading a lot of.feedback from the users here in the forum. Others have shared their expertise while others does not have any idea on what is cock fighting all about. All they know is that cock fighting is a violation on animal rights and they indeed right. This game is not limited only to ASEAN countries, some state in the US (Texas) used to have this game in fact some of the birds in the Philippines were imported from Texas that they even called that breed TEXAS . It's not exotic, it is almost the same as bullfight but the big difference is that almost all of the defeated birds died.

Yes. Not just in Philippines but also in some big countries cock fighting is also popular. My father is a cockfighter way back then and so i used to surround with cocks in my childhood days because he is raising few of it. Even at the present time, cockfighting has been more popular not just to those old ones but even to the young ones too.

Yes, cock fights were famous in my country. There are large number of people who are highly dedicated in preparing the cock with special nutrition and practice. One of my friend have got few, and the fights will be scheduled into three at least. The maximum wins will be rewarded and I've seen a maximum betting of $1500, and in our locality this happens mostly with the days of annual Feast or on account of some festive season.

Cockfight arenas are filled with people watching and yelling for their bets. Rooster who lose usually dies and will be cooked for dinner by the owner who won,  but if it is lucky enough to survive the fight,  then it better be ready for another fight after it recovered.
