Keep up the good work man that gives chance to newbies ranked up. I think the reason why they did not look to newbie's profile because the majority of them got banned. Look at this thread,

Note: banned users can still have good posts. Meriting them isn't necessarily a bad thing.
In total,
26864 users received at least 1 Merit until last Friday's merit data dump, and 3024 of those (11.26%) have been
banned.
