Why are there so many wild predictions about XRP- ie it being worth hundreds or

Thousands? I'm researching one alt coin to speculate in and most of the communities seem optimistic but somewhat have their feet on the ground. I was looking at a coin that goes for 30 cents currently and the people that promote it are hoping for a few bucks, maybe 5 at the most. But with XRP (Ripple) over and over I see posts and youtube videos that talk about XRP being worth hundreds and some even claim over a thousand within 5 to 10 years or less!

Do these people not realize XRP has 100 billion coins out there? And that they release a billion every month? Most of the banks they are currently partnered with are not using the token. Help me out here, I'm genuinely curious. They do seem to have ardent followers. Every alt I've looked into I see it as having no chance of challenging bitcoin pretty much ever, but this one I don't know. I don't think it's likely but they do seem to be unique.

Disclosure: I currently own zero XRP coins, may speculate with some in the future.

There are many that "predict" whatever suits them best. If they convince some more people buy the coin they try to sell as expensive as possible, why not?
Ripple is by excellence a speculation coin. There are many good news and partnerships around it, real or not and there are many supporters - mostly by interest.

Ripple's "haters" (the realists imho) usually tell that's centralized, that's not a real crypto coin and it's not to be trusted. This should be enough to stay away of it. But the mirage of easy money is more powerful, so... people keep buying it, then also start promoting it.

Since it's centralized, anything can happen. Even thousands of $. But the likelihood of that.. I'm not convinced.

The coin is interesting, but the fact that it will cost as bitcoin, causes me only a smile on my face. There are many coins that can notice btc, but know about them not so much as about the oldest coin that even grandmothers in your yard know about. Due to this, the price will be very high for some time. I would advise to invest in different projects, then there is more chance to get profit than to keep everything in xrp.

Those predictions that you have heard and read are one proof that those people are supporting Ripple (XRP) and they have it on their portfolio. They want to add more market cap to it and everything they say are encouraging with it. I don't have XRP either and I think I'll never buy it, yes it is an easy money if ever it pumps. A prediction of it having a thousand dollar in value seems to be high but that's just a speculation and it is up to you if you will believe it or not.

I think Ripple is enjoying support of many maybe because it is the biggest cryptocurrency projects from the United States and it is one of the coin with many centralized companies partnerships. I also have believe in Ripple and it has proven so many times that it is a coin that can surely withstand the test of time

Dont forget ripple its a centralized exchange, the company freely to created the coins imagine if a lot coins dumped by him or other walle. Lets focus only on decentralized not on centralized.

I think ripple has massive community and that community is good at getting attention by presenting ripple as a real choice for investors, i am really impressed how xrp community is capable of creating hype, fomo and excitement about ripple every now and then i wish every good project should have such a community.

I think, most people assume ripple is not seen from the point of view of how much supply or how many tokens are released each month. personally, I bought ripple as a form of support for what they achieved is extraordinary to be able to advance blockchain technology can be known by the general public as a future asset and indirectly it can boost interest in other cryptocurrency.

I just thought that the intention of those predictions was to create a hype or noise for Ripple so more people will get attracted and buy XRP but remember that almost everything could happen in crypto-sphere.

Yeah, the more people who believe in these predictions, the more people (probably) want to buy it and in the end, the easier you can sell your bags to them. Simple as that.

Well they're nuts if they think a couple of youtube videos is going to move the market when there are currently 50 billion coins circulating and another 50 in reserve. I did more research on this guys. 1 guy predicts their market cap will go to 1 quadrillion, because when the economy crashes again the IMF will get all countries to move to their crypto which according to these people is XRP, because I guess XRP has had some talks with the IMF and World Bank, but that doesn't necessarily mean a thing. The type of people promoting it remind me of the bitconnect people.

I do kind of want to get some because they are trying to fill their own niche not compete with bitcoin so much, but the people who are out promoting it give me pause. Were it to reach gold's market cap, each coin would be worth $70. In their wildest dreams that's the best they could hope for. If they manage everything perfectly with the banks I think $10 at some point could be possible. Obviously if the USD does undergo massive inflation, than these targets might hit, but you might need to spend a couple of XRP coins to get a pizza, so it wouldn't matter.

I assume most of those wild predictions have no basis at all, just to hype up XRP.
With its massive supply and not having the popularity of bitcoin in terms of payment system, I don't think they will be of worth anytime soon.
They need to get the level of $1 first before we can think of the next big thing.
