Whats your opinion on UFC fighert Ben Askren?

In my opinion Ben is a top athlete and a great wrestler without a doubt, but after seeing his debut in UFC I do not know if I would bet in his favor. Also, his way of being and his humor are not much to my type... I confirm this by watching the UFC Seasonal Press Conference.

and it seems that he is a good grappler, however, his punching power is not that strong. He mostly depends on his wrestling skills. Unlike other grapplers in UFC who aside from their grappling skill, also has powerful kicks and punches.

Ben Askren was a trade from One Championship in an exchange with former Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson Well I am not a fan of Johnson but I think Ben Askren is a gullible guy, He may have an advantage for grappling but I really think that he has a problem with  his punching power so he relies more on his ability as a wrestler and to his submission moves and a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu Maybe he can stand a chance against every fighter he come against with.

He has a great record with One FC. He fought 7 matches, 6 wins with 1 no contest due to accidental eye poke. 3 of his wins are through TKO, 2 via Submission and 1 via Unanimous Decision. He also fought in Bellator from 2010 to 2013. Incredibly He was able to fight 8 times in Bellator unlike other fighters who averages only 1 to 2 fights in a year.

I didn't know that Ben and Daniel had lost against Cuban athletes, without a doubt the Cubans are excellent athletes and they have shown it on several occasions regardless of the cultural political situation. Competing at these levels deserves too much respect regardless of not having won. But in my opinion UFC is very different and its not a place of comfort for Ben.

Btw, Cubans are considered one of the best boxers. Quite often Olympic gold-bronze medals in boxing were won my Cubans.

I didn't know this fighter at all before reading this post but I already have sympathy for him because he is an enthusiast in crypto.I will check to see some youtube videos about his fighting style and how good he is in fighting, in crypto I see he already is.

You are correct of his skills being a wrestler and for me it was satisfaction for someones in physical inspired sports but this is not enough for him to be in octagon or UFC .maybe better for him to focus in scripted game than the actial fighting

The guy good but definitely lacks in many aspects as stated by some members here. If he could only train harder about his punching power then I think that he will be a future champion someday. I respect his wrestling skill but in UFC wrestling skill is not enough to be a good athlete you need to have a balance just like DC.

For me the big deal is that someone in mainstream like Ben can help a lot  with crypto popularity and adoption.

Possible, unless if he would really do have that time to promote crypto inspite of his current career but still a plus on knowing this stuff. Ben is a good fighter but same as observations above his punches and kicks arent really that strong compared to others but still skills would really give out some advantage.

Give it more time, this guy just debuted in UFC and we all know that in UFC they have the best fighters there. Askren maybe successful in Bellator and One FC lets see how he can hable the fighters in UFC. Just look at Brandon Vera, he is not as successful as he is when he was in UFC but in One FC he is tge Champion there.

If he maybe wins streak game fights for any reasons, he can potentially progress that even he is not well developed in fighting on UFC, he might learn base on experience on fights. I think he is just taking the right tempo in UFC fighting. Every champion athlete starts at nothing and he is too, so he just need proper training attention to be ready in UFC fights.

Don't know much about him because I don't watch UFC fighter sports in here. I am not too like that sports because it's too harsh for me and I prohibited my nephew from watching that sport because it could take them to be harsh with other kids too.

I think Dana is just testing him... maybe if Ben wins his next fight vs Jorge Masvidal he will deserve a title fight. But with out doubt Masvidal will be a good test for Ben, he is a hell of a fighter.
