Hello,

Someone who will send me Bitcoin insists I use a Gdax address from gdax.us, is there any reason for this I am not aware of ? like he wants to launder "dirty" bitcoins through Gdax using me or something ?

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

It's a scam. Don't do it.

Firstly, GDAX is no longer known as GDAX. It is now called Coinbase Pro.
Secondly, the URL was https://www.gdax.com/, not .us, and is now https://pro.coinbase.com/
Thirdly, the pictures of their "team" in the About Us section are all fake. For example, their "Developer" Teresa Alsopp is actually model and DJ Demi Rose.
Lastly, they claim to be a registered company in the UK under the company number OC393265, which is actually a now dissolved clothing company: https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/OC393265

It's a scam Website/Phishing website.
There is even a recent Open scam accusation against it here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5131626.0

just like other posters say, it's definitely scam attempt using phishing/fake site
when someone demanding you to use certain site/wallet/exchange, you should be very cautious
receiving bitcoin only need a bitcoin address, requiring specific wallet is not normal

if you fall into his scheme, you will lose your bitcoin within minutes or days
he will steal it after he received whatever you're giving him in return of that bitcoin payment

Thank you all for warning me, I was right to come ask here before doing anything, I also found it very suspicious that he asked for using gdax.us specifically, I told him I have multiple wallets that can receive bitcoin in any format old or new, Electrum, Jaxx, my Localbitcoin address, on Waves BTC portal.... But he was only going to send to a gdax.us address, I was wandering how he would know it's a gdax address unless he has access to gdax.us addresses and private keys.

I had the same experience but a friend of mine told me that I should be aware of it. It's a phishing site and definitely a scam. Good thing that you have asked about it this early. It's really an advantage to be observant at times. We should always be aware of scammer's techniques, they are wiser this time.
