Hey @glaciercapital
Marketplace fees are charged in the dApp store on all purchases. These range from 5% for transactions carried out from end to end in Ki’s currency (no fiat used for payment by the end-user or accepted by the service provider) and up to 15% if fiat is paid by the end-user as well as chosen for payment by the service provider. The end-user will not incur fees per se, as all transactions happen on the back-end. E.g. a $100 purchase all in fiat would still cost the end-user $100 but $5 would be deducted from the service provider’s share if the end-user paid in fiat and another $5 would be deducted if the service provider took their consideration in fiat too. The service provider can therefore offer discounts to users if they pay in Ki, as the service provider will always know the platform charges. All fees are distributed to the validators who secure the network.
All marketplace fees are shared amongst the validators and delegators who processed the transactions in question, and none go to Ki. This is because Ki is a foundation with no equity and no desire to extract rent from the participants in the Ki ecosystem. Ki tokens are the only way in which someone can participate in the growth of the Ki ecosystem.
