Thanks for posting that. Namecoin might be a useful coin to use to test that old ASIC miner I picked up a while ago.
Not likely. Namecoin is merge mined with bitcoin, so the difficulty is comparable to bitcoin's and probably not the job of a single old ASIC, unfortunately. |

About one year back, I did register a ".bit" (dot bit) domain name which is based on Namecoin through PeerName.com, and it did work fine. I think I also used a regular .net domain name to redirect it to the NMC's .bit domain (where a Wordpress-based website was hosted) and it worked nicely as well. |

I mean like that it has not spread much. IMHO such half solutions aren't necessary much when we have Tor. It's better to wait for Maidsafe that decentralizes not just DNS, but everything down to the physical layer. |

I understand that I will get my JetCash.zil domain name tomorrow, and the blockchain will go live,
I'm still having problems in discovering how to use this, and I am not able to access many of the reference pages. I think it is a bit amateurish for them to use external services to list such information. I don't even know if it is a real domain name requiring the use of name servers, or just a wallet address translation service. It is starting to look like a fancy naming system for a wallet that they provide. So all the caveats about using banking services will apply.

Nevermind, mods deleted it, it was a Coinbase + Unstoppable domains co-giveaway and the rewards were awesome, but it was only 3 day flash giveaway and it ended today. Hodl.crypto domain and 3k USD in ETH and 4k USD in Dai, but mods deleted it because I posted it in Economy. I had no idea on which board to post it so I posted it there... |
