Gambling is an entertainment?

I think unless you're a super gambling guru/genius ( like James Holzhauer who was the jeopardy champion who gambles for a living) approaching gambling as a hobby or entertainment is the best course of action. I know NFL very well, I watch it a ton, and have for many years..but even I know I'm outmatched by Vegas.  Gambling as a job is super risky, obviously.

Hey, all of you considering gambling like activity, in meaning that "we are gambling and check our incentive to do it: entertainment or money"

Why not to add additional incentive: Monetize your knowledge in gambling. You're playing, playing and after few (or more) years you're telling something like "I'm experienced in gambling, look for how long i'm here. Buy my gambling course "From 1 dollar to million" for 50 % discount" 

I know enough examples of such stories, at least in russian gambling community.

I think depending on our mood, it could be business or it could be entertainment or both. At first, we play for entertainment but after a few wins that will get our mood excited, we think we will make more money, it is business.

There is no stability in gambling earnings. This is a bad feature of this type of earnings. I watched interviews with some regular poker players where they talked about themselves, and almost all of them said that they would not like such earnings for their children. Because one big win in a tournament can alternate with several losses in others in tournaments with high buy-ins.

Does less focus mean less opportunity to win? No, this is gambling we are talking about, focus or not, skilled or not you can still lose.

If that's the reality, then why would we still chase to improve our skills? have you read some stories about gamblers getting big money from poker tournament or sports bettor who made a living on it?

I mean, even in normal games like fps or moba, there isn't a guaranteed chance of winning even if we improve our skills. It's the same idea with gambling. Every game out there has some form or part where luck plays a huge part, and you're skill can literally do nothing about it.

FPS or MOBA is different.

It is not the same as that since these teams are practicing their strategies and plays every day, it is a game, and always remember that these games are played by 5 players. Your teammates' play can lift you all in a slump while you can't do that in gambling as you are doing your bettings all alone. In gambling, luck plays a huge part, in those games, skills play a huge part as it will be your weapon to turn around games by taking advantage of mistakes your opponent's made.

That will depend on each people how they treat gambling. If they use gambling as entertainment, they will need to know how to prevent the big loss and never use big money to gamble. It is hard because, from time to time, many people hard to control themselves when they are playing gambling. Many times they tried, but the result is they still use more money. Gambling tempts people to play longer and spend more money, and many people become addicted to gambling. Maybe we don't have to try hard to make money from gambling because gambling is not a way to make money.

Maybe people need to think about not spending longer on gambling and always limiting their money because once they forget to do that, they will not have a chance to save their money. We already see many people lose their money, so we don't have to follow them.

If you can't even control yourself from stopping your activities in gambling, how can you even say that you are addicted, right? That is the problem with addiction, yourself can't tell whether you are addicted or not, all you know is you are having fun and that is what matters. I think that although it is true that our brain does not function correctly when being addicted a person knows if he is addicted or not.It is another thing if the person does not want to accept it but I know many stories in which addicted gamblers themselves have asked for professional help.I personally realized that I was becoming addicted to slots and stopped right away.In the end it depends on the person as there is no real fixed rule for this.

That's accurate but sometimes becasue of greed gamblers always run out from their spare cash while gambling into their main savings thereby make their gambling no more entertaining nor for fun. There shouldn't be any problem for any gambler who can hold unto their spare cash for gambling but this require self-control for it to function properly.
