Yep, that's very bad behavior from anyone on DT--not sure how he ended up on DT2 and don't really care.  I also excluded the two accounts on my trust list.  People really need to learn what to do and not do once they're on DT, and obviously this guy did not.

I don't think many of the recently added DT2 know they're DT2.

There is no notification msg. or anything like that unless you get a PM that you've been added (this is not an excuse to give yourself/alt account a positive feedback in any way though).

This might be worth looking into too: he's received positive trust from rig4hodlers and bubbalex. Both were put on DT2 only by Hellmouth42, and rig4hodlers left feedback to Hellmouth42 only. There's a very small circle of users giving eachother trust (this may or may not be justified, I didn't dig that deep yet).

It looks like poor judgement to say the least. deception1359 looks like a spammer who posts the same post over and over again.

I'm still working on an overview of DT2 and "selfscratchers" (users who include users who left them positive trust), but it's not finished yet. Without really searching for it, I found several examples of abuse already, so it could be this is just scratching the surface.

Anyone who is on DT1 who goes into their trust list settings and adds users makes a person DT2 automatically. See image below. You can give a user a positive trust for a trade or whatnot and it does nothing to their DT status. This is where I think people are confused.

Also, as you see in the image below if you use ~ symbol before someones username in your trust settings, that user is not trusted by you.

He/she seems to be a translator looking to join bounties. Giving yourself positive trust (trusted) might be an unfair advantage towards other participants.

I think the self-meriting thing is actually a lot worse in this case:

If I create a new account. Then I send my smerit to the new account, is this valid?

Technically, you can do whatever you want with your merit as it's not moderated. But giving merit to your alt maybe result in getting tagged by DT member.

This would be a good monitoring tool, more trust abusers will get revealed for sure!

Because you need to be a Junior Member to do that. To become a Junior Member you will have to have posted in three activity periods and have at least 28 activity. However, you can bypass these restriction by buying a Copper Membership for a small fee here.

To do what, exactly?  What is it you can't do now that you couldn't do before your account(s) got tagged?  

It seems like you knew what the consequences of sending merits to an alt account would be, but you did it anyway.  What do you expect from the community?

I think it is OK to leave it like this as at this point DT system consists of active members and with some exclusions we can solve such problem. Not a biggie IMO but having some sort of monitoring tool like LoyceV suggested would be good and helpful in excluding trust abusers quickly.
