The biggest crypto crime and the on that i think has changed the course of any investment on the internet is the ponzi scheme made by one coin site where they have walked away with more than 667 million dollar, onecoin claimed to be the bitcoin killer, that many people believed it and they invested their money their saving only to wake one day and find out they have have been scammed, to this day the founder is still on the run and the case is still not solved, with the one coin scam everyone lost their trust in these types of companies and projects.

The biggest crime in crypto are happening secretly we could assume that crypto is being used as a currency for murder or any other kind of stuff.
The biggest crime could be the cleanest crime that no one would suspect that crypto is used to that crime.

well, however, no crime can be considered good. everything looks the same to me. well, stealing on an exchanger, cheating people with HYIP, scam ICO, all of that is not good, and I consider all of them the same. there is nothing better than crime.

Actually in myetherwallet scam, I am one of the stupid bitcoiner that being scam. They sent an email as the same as the email of campaign manager at bounty asking for my info like KYC and asking my private keys.I thought it was legit because campaign manager was always sent an email update to me. So next day I found out that my coin  was stole. So I can say that scam is the biggest crime here in cryptocurrency.

youre right. Posing problem of Hackers/scam is bringing innovations. In the name of this some people still get scammed.

I think as long as there are people who are evil and tries to scam and make easy money, they will be innovating all the way. It's just like a battle between Good and Evil, and there would never be a balance, at least for a long time. It's just like how hackers/programmers find a way to pirate an application which benefits some of the people who can't afford. I think the main difference between that is like a white hat thing vs a black hat thing.

Yes, i agree that scam is the biggest crime in this market, millions of money are being scammed every year and if we continue to be like this them its hard for us to grow consistently. Your situation is normal for the scammers but its your fault to give your private keys, legit campaign will never ask for this one so keep this in your mind.

Remember that bitcoin savings and loan scam that happened a few years ago by that guy in Texas?  That has got to rank high up on the list of crimes, and the guy actually went to prison for it. 

Mt. Gox is #1 in my mind and always will be.  Anywho, cryptocurrency naturally attracts scammers of every stripe given that the criminals are very hard to trace and for some reason the victims rarely go to the police when they get scammed.  Seasoned bitcointalk veterans know the steps that need to be taken to protect themselves (like escrow and not dealing with newbs), but it is the newcomers to crypto that are the most vulnerable.  Unfortunately many of them will have to learn the hard way.

It might be the Mt. gox. I mean it don't just made a history on the book of crypto currencies, since it is the biggest decline of price of Bitcoin in the books it also left a big impression and realization to people. I think it is the news that I read about Bitcoin.

Right now it is not that big of a deal since Bitcoin's technology is close to being impregnable. I've read an article that Bitcoin is hacked at an early age or early development. If I can remember at that time someone found a backdoor the reason it is hacked. I don't remember what they have done but I think they doubled the number of supplies of Bitcoin in circulation. It was fixed and everything gets back to normal, for me that is the biggest crime of cryptocurrency. I guess the second was when Mt. Gox was hacked.

Interms of money that was lost I think its also MTGox but the biggest heist and a suspect pinned down I think it must be the crime of the people behind the Bitconnect project (BCC). BCC was one of the top project on CMC that made people think its really legit so they jump onto it.

Who works behind are very intelligent making things such clean and discreetly sucking people's money without any notice, there's no real concept a pure manipulative act where investors minds got diverted to the process of forking and make them fomo's to buy in only to realize that it's just a pumped and dumped projects.

The biggest crime in Crypto currencies are the fact that private centralized institutions hijacked the whole experiment and then caused all these problems. Satoshi did not want people to do P2P transactions via 3rd part centralized services, he wanted people to trade 1 on 1.

These centralized services used exploitable code and hackers and thieves quickly realized this and they targeted these vulnerabilities. So Bitcoin was not responsible for these hacks, but rather 3rd party <centralized> services with weak software.  

Of course! - It's pretty obvious that exchanges are the problem, not Bitcoin or the Blockchain technology.

However, i think that we need to understand that in order to attract the masses someday 3rd party centralized services are a must for that to really happen. There's a lot of people who can't really care less about learning new things. For that reason, even banks are probably needed in some degree.

I agree that the security breaches came precisely from that fact.
