It depends on how the price reaches such levels. If the US Dollar loses most of its value, and Bitcoin is worth $1 million, then it could just as easily be $100k (or less) in today's purchasing power.

To be honestly speaking, we all know that a time will come that even 1 satoshi will cost so much, talk less of BTC, but we are talking about future when BTC is fully a grown up thing, right now, BTC is a baby and it’s just starting, we still have low adoption rate that will push it that high.

We need lots of large scale adoptions both individually and institution wise, if we can get institutions to come into the cryptocurrency massively within the next 10 years, then in 15 years’ time, we should hit the final peak of about $1,000,000 for BTC, but for now. Let’s stick with something between 50K and 100k.

Who would believe John Mcafee to begin with. Dude managed to make a great company once and sold it and he is lucky to have that but this is the dude that said he would eat is own penis if bitcoin didn't reach there, anyone that would make any claim on bitcoin like that should not be really listened at all. And it turned out he took money from ICO people to promote their coins and ICO people would profit more from the increase than the payment they made so he is definitely a shady person from all we know about him so far. The dollar is not a fixed value, its entirely free market based now with no set exchange or guarantee so far as I know.    That initially supports his idea of 1 million because the dollar could be any value in exchange for those 1 million notes.    However then saying its impossible it wont be $1m ignores the fact that dollars can also rise in value, could in 2020 or 2021 be a highly valued asset even much rarer to aquire then now.
    I dont believe that will be the case but its a possible scenario and its happened unexpectedly in 2008 so his statement is not saying anything more then hyperbole and it was wrong as soon as he finished it.    I dont doubt he knows that

He's like that because he invested so much in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency. This is just a form of initializing a placebo effect. Saying impossible (lowly probable) thing would make people hope to see it happen. Though he's using Math or something, this is cryptocurrency and nothing has been certain since this started.

it is called being an attention whore and that is what McAfee has been doing for the past couple of years. and that is 100% clear from his actions the day he started getting paid to make tweets advertising shitty ICOs that were scamming people and started hyping up shitcoins that he held and wanted to be pumped so that he could dump and make a lot of profit.
