Yes.Its the integrity of the family itself.I admit i was really a gambler but honestly,i don't want my family to do the same way too.Gambling is such a risky thing and if you cannot control yourself from always gambling,then it will definitely ruin your whole life.So as much as possible,they should stay away from gambling.

Every person has their culture and norms depending on how they were raised by their parents. In my honest opinion, I would not subject my children to any form of gambling but if they were to ask me on how, it is better if I play with them rather than them learning it from other people. Just like what my father told me, it is better to learn drinking from him rather than to other people.

I used to gamble with parents when I was a kid. Blackjack, poker, chess, checkers. But most of the time I lose to my father. Now I understand he cheated all the time 

That's hilarious! It can be also a form of bonding between a parent and a child but you must avoid succumbing to addiction.

In my place, you can gamble on the wake which is normal and a form of sympathy. I was young that time and my dad was playing on the other table called "Mahjong", my Mom was playing "Bingo", and I'm playing card game (Tong-its) that time and it looks like my whole family are playing and aiming to win some money

When I grew up, gambling becomes our source of happiness but suddenly becomes our worst enemy because honestly my parents got separated because of gambling and until now they blame the addiction of my dad. I'm old enough now to realize that was a biggest mistake of my family, to let that addiction ruin our family. I promise to myself not to be like my dad, I will not expose my kids into gambling.

Will you do the same mistakes of my family or you will keep your kids or even yourself away from gambling?

I don't know what I should do with your family story, but basically I care about your story and I appreciate your wise choice not to be an addict like your daddy and that is the right choice. Gambling is not a problem as long as you can control everything properly, if because gambling causes destruction in the family, gambling is not good for you. No one wants to make a mistake like that just because of gambling and as much as possible I personally will not let my kids become gambling addicts.

Parents were always aren't consistent to teach their child to get involved in gambling, they are always worried about your good future. I think for OP situation, his parents know that he can control his self and know how to manage gambling addiction. Gambling is not a big problem here if you know how to control your self and manage with it even if every day you are going to go to your father as a gambler.

The lottery as gambling is only good for one thing, very tiny amount of time taken to place the bet and the also the massive possible rewards.    For everything else its the worst kind of gambling, no real proper participation, no skill or gameplay to it, the odds are very often awful and so bad its similar to voluntary tax.    
For very busy people who want to tuck a lottery ticket into their car dashboard to cheer them up in a traffic jam, 'maybe i'll win' then sure.   For family gambling I would recommend something simple and more social like Bingo type events, mostly its sitting around talking and maybe drinking eating and thats far more suited to family.   The odds are far better then the giant lotto and I always liked the ticking off numbers part personally, for small kids its even educational

I did not understand if say the country has legally allowed the gambling and if some family members plays together and some win or lose so how it will impact your self esteem. It is the luck based and if you win you are lucky else you can rise on other's luck if your other family member is winning at least

Well, I think no one parents make their children ruin lives because of letting them gamble or teaching them to become a gambler because in their eyes that is a bad habit especially when it comes financial support that they don't have. Indeed, that is not must be tolerated to let your children doing gambling. Parents are always concerned with the future of their children and it must be.

That’s not true mate. Parents who truly have an understanding of gambling do not see it that way, rather they know that gambling is just for  entertainment and the money or whatever that is committed is always something that everyone in the family can afford to lose.

I started gambling at an early age with my parents and I learnt earlier that gambling is for fun and it has really helped me in the gambling journey. This is the reason I am very confident that I can never have the history of addition.

You should tell your parents how fun sports gambling is compared to lottery.
Actually you can get the a good odds that would pay a huge winning with a small money at risk through parlay, and that's more entertaining as you can watch them.

I think they are too old to start sports betting now, they play most of their lottery with an automatic monthly subscription, and then add some extra coupons sometimes on their lottery app. We now have 3 weekly lotteries to put money on, including Friday evening cross nation euro lottery.

You will never know if you don't try asking or influencing them, if they love to gamble and they love sports, they will fall in love with the game.

Lol.. So your dad exposed you to gambling at an early age. I am very sure that you must be a big time gambler now.My father was a great gambler but he never allowed me or my other siblings to gamble with him while were still very young because according to him we were still too young to learn the rules and understand how to control ourselves. But, now that I am no longer that little one and I have come of age, I gamble a lot of times with my dad and the other of my siblings and I must confess that it can be super interesting with lots of gist while playing.

My parents hates gambling as far as I know and honestly, once they know that I’m into gambling for sure they will mad at me. Gambling with parents is not bad if you think positively and can’t really affect the family. We must put family first than money, and do gambling without sacrificing your family.

Every parent wants the best for their kids. Your parents understand the addictive side of gambling and that is probably the reason they do not want you to get exposed to such game. I don’t gamble, and I can’t imagine raising a child that does, let alone playing with kids. There are better games to play that do not have to do with gambling.

Gambling would be completely be declared illegal if I had my way because I have seen the harm it has caused to many people I know.

In my own personal experience, playing gambling with my parents or other family members is really makes me comfortable because i don't get nervous when i am playing with them and to lose all of my money, even i get greedy in betting it won't bother me because all of my losses will still be benefited to me and family. I also have experienced playing gambling with my parents in bitcoin casino in games like baccarat, poker, and blackjack because those gambling games are the favorites of my family, that is why i enjoy more playing gambling when i play with my parents or other family members. Bingo and Mahjong was exactly the game the OP said he and his family played then when he was still young but I don't support of act of family gambling together at the same spot cause it lead to something just like the OP story. However, I disagree with you concern what you said about lottery and just because it require no skills doesn't make it an awful game.

What self esteem? don't get that point either, playing along with your family members with a luck based gambling will still rely with how lucky you are winning your bets, maybe what he meant is you will be losing focus when you are playing against your relatives, not sure though my own sense I guess, bit there's no relevance if you both agree to play together, your bets, your game.

It is not that everyone lives in the same house hold and have same parents but even in different type of parents and different type of children it really doesn't make sense that much. If you gamble against your parents like a good old family fun (people play monopoly and risk and what not with their parents after all) it doesn't earn anyone any money, its the same money just changing hands at the household and that makes no sense at all.

If you play with them on a casino you can't really win neither, if you win a lot of money they will be happy but also wonder how you learned all that and if you lose than well you lost money. I feel like even friends are included in this because the only way you can actually gamble and feel that thrill is against strangers you do not know.

gambling can indeed have a very bad effect on users, especially if one family hobbies in gambling, of course, they only focus on the game because they expect money to be obtained from gambling. This of course can break harmony in a family, besides losing communication with one another, of course harmony will be hard to come by. as much as possible I will avoid not giving direction to gambling to my child later because if you hear the story you mentioned gambling can certainly destroy harmony in the family

Yes I gamble and play with my parents it is one of our family time.
We usually play cards when we gamble but sometimes we bet with other stuff like who would do the chores who would clean the house.

This type of gambling   can be very interesting, because everyone would be battling to win since no one likes to do house chores.  But I would rather try gambling with my friends than family because at the end some siblings will not stick to their own side of the deal and that can be discouraging.

It reminds me of my old friend who always gambled with his family, he told me it is always fun until someone looses. According to him, gambling with family should not be considered gambling, it can cause misunderstanding. I have never tried gambling with my family, and I hope to do that someday so that I can know how it feels.

You really have to try because it can be so interesting.  Like you mentioned some siblings not sticking by their side of the deal, I would say that it is not always true. That’s exactly what makes it an interesting game, with everyone trying hard to win.

Its just really a matter of parenting yet we do really have different kind of parents.Some might be so open where they dont strict out too much ans some dont let you touch or make your learn about gambling.

Although parents differs, my parent will never wanted to hear or see me close to a gambling center because they always preach against the spirit involved in gambling. I believe that many other parent will do likewise but not 70% will do. My gambling life is secrete and will keep it secret until they found out themselves. Gambling with ones parent to me doesn't make any sense and the gambler won't enjoy it.
