If we base the average blocks per day to 144 with 12.5 Bitcoins per block then that would be 1,800 Bitcoins added to the circulating supply per day so we'll wait more or less 190 days/6months+. With the current trend of Bitcoin reaching 100 million market capitalization within the span of 6 months is more likely to happen.

Some members seem to have issues with numbers, market cap of bitcoin is currently 93,204,061,964 $, and that is billions - and total market cap is 176,558,719,780 $, also billions by data provided on Coinmarketcap. Only 6.8 $ billion is needed for 100 $ billion MC for bitcoin, and although it seems a lot of money, actually is not.

Market capitalization of some coin is calculated in a very simple way. You need circulating supply and price, and for 100 $ billion MC of bitcoin price should be at this moment only around 5700$. In short, to add some 6.8 $ billion to bitcoin market cap, price only need to go up 450$.

Judging from this I think we will hit 100B first before we can hit 18M bitcoin in circulation. Mining takes a lot of time before you can mine a block but having to reach 100B for market capitalization is fairly easy since there are lots of traders and exchanges nowadays.

Looking at the market flow we can infer that we will not hitting a 100 million market capitalization first. In my honest opinion we will hit 18M btc first. But this theory of mine will only be realized if there will be no bullrun in the coming days. But what is most important for me is that we will have a big market capitalization since that means that the value of our bitcoin is going up and we will enjoy good fortune if that happens.

Well if look out through the charts then the 100 B marketcap is soon to be achieved as the price grows steadily.
18 M BTC supply is yet to take ample amount of time to be achieved as the leonair mentioned.
Anyway, the increase in marketcap certainly won't make a huge difference though.

He is right to say that it should be Billion instead of Million for the market capitalization as the current market capitalization is 93+ Billion already. It would be non senses to compare which one will come first if we use million for the market capitalization as 100M for it has been reached long time ago.

I will go for the 100milion market capitalization any time because bitcoin current market capitalization is 900+ that is jus a stone throw to 1 billion market capitalization I know before the end of the second quarter of the year 2019 that 1 billion market capitalization will be achieved.

Wendelllee assumed it right, that would be $100B not $100M. The current BTC marketcap is $92,904,632,375 (CMC), that's $92B+

yes we reached the 100M$ market cap but actually it just because of the high BTC price before
and if you see the bitcoin price chart on CMC, and the highest market cap from bitcoin was 300M which because of the bitcoin price at that moment around 19.5k $

Lets say that you meant 100 billion mcap  That is actually a silly question, we only need 7 more billion to get there and that can happen and day. (Of course it can pass 100 bln and than pull back but relatively soon it will stay way above 100 bln) Theres prehalvening pump soon i guess in may/june and dont be surprised if we go to 200 billion mcap,thats only around 11 000 per btc.Even that is highly possible before 18 milionth btc hits the circulation...

With the price of Bitcoin staying above the $5,000 range right now i'd say it's more likely we'll see the $100 billion capitalization first over the circulation.

But there's also a chance for the circulation to happen first if Bitcoin doesn't go above $5500 and the price stays well under for several months.

Market cap is based on bitcoin price so it's just as someone would ask if bitcoin will reach a certain price before we reach 18M BTC in circulation. 100B market cap is not as big as it seems since there have been periods when it was a lot bigger such as in 2017 when it passed 300B.

The Current market cap is almost at 93B$, and it is derived based on the current market price. So, most likely it will occur first.

Agree, most people are really after numbers, only few are using crypto to utilize it's real use-case as a currency. Most of us see crypto as an investment tool.

Bitcoin market capitalization already hit more than 100M when btc was at $20k, and now it's really to the goal, so i would say 100M is not a hard goal nowdays, that's why i choose the 100M on this poll

We already see the number of investors and number of merchant who are already invest and it will increasing everyday so I dont have any doubt that bitcoin can be hit more than 100M market capitalization. Maybe the man was just mistyped the amount but you are right its 100 billions because the current marketcap of bitcoin is around $90,000,000,000

For me its easy for bitcoin to reach 100 billions capitalization than the 18 million bitcoins in circulating were just below $10 billion shorter so if another whales invested for sure we wil take that
