Funny that you mention PETA, they are supposed to protect all animals but they show complete bias towards furry and cute animals.  Shouldn't insects be held in the same regards for PETA

So sorry for your experience. Well, in the city you will not see children play this game since this kind of spiders can only be found in the fields so most of the children playing this game are in the province. Yea right, nowadays children are modern, they don't play with native games anymore but gadgets and computer games but my son I don't allow him to stay in the house the whole day sitting on the computer but I encourage him to go out and play basketball with other children.

I have an experience of watching or even setting spider fights when I was a child because that one became a trend here in our country as well. But honestly, I haven't experienced betting on that kind of games because I always don't have plenty of money on my pocket that time (just exact daily school allowance).

Anyway, I think betting spider fights is very hard to attain because of the following:
1) There is no man who hunt spiders for a living, children most often do that just for fun only. Thus, finding spider matches are very rare.
2) Spiders, like other animals/insects, are seasonal. You can't make a bet even you want to because there's lack of opportunity.
3) Lack of interest coming from the gamblers (of course they are more interested with other sports betting, dice or poker).
4) This game is illegal (IMO) because we know that there's no organization who recognize tbis kind of game.

Not specifically in mountain areas because we can also find spiders in City but only those places that has many trees since they living there and hunting insects for food

This kind of game is just for kids. I don't think we need bitcoin or fiat for this kind of game to bet. This game is very simple and just put the two spiders in a stick if I am not mistaken that I think only playing outside your house. Don't need some elaboration for this.

I don’t like it either and I can imagine the trauma you must have suffered. Spiders are weird creatures and trying to use them for games doesn’t even sound pleasant to the ears, it is in those games that I see a giant scary spiders.

No child in this generation of technology will even play; there are too many more interesting options of games for them to choose from and make their life fun. My younger ones are always scared at the sight of ant alone, let alone spider, infact gearing their name is even more scary than seeing them. I think anything animals should not be played as games.

In my own personal opinion, playing and betting in a spider fight is really a fun game when i was a kid because it is fun playing and taking care a spider. You are also right that cock fighting game is like a spider fight, but in spider game you only bet it in only for a small amount of money while in a cock fight many people mostly bet a large amount of money. It’s strange and I keep wondering how   anyone would pick a spider to gamble with among all the available things that they can use to gamble.  I think some animals should be left alone, I read on this this same forum weeks back how people gamble on insect so many times, then cocks and now it is spider. Last night I remember this thread and I try to find spiders in our garden but I didn't see anything. Yes, you are right I figure out these things that spiders should not be threatened like that to fighting each other. They also have lives that we must value, having betting is not the neccesary thing to have on that kind of betting game.
