This is why you hodl and don't attempt to day trade.  Its likely that the price will never dip down to what you sold your coins for.  You may end up having FOMO and buy for a much higher price.  If you are serious about making money I wouldn't wait much longer, a lot of institutional investors are dipping their toes in crypto now.

If you profited (or avoding losses) by selling your Bitcoins yesterday then it's not the worst decision. If i'm in your position I might've done the same too.

Could be yes, maybe not today but in the next few days it is totally possible. But what is even more possible is a correction after that. This growth can't continue at this pace.

Seeing these current uprise of Bitcoin makes me get excited on my holdings. It's always good to have patience especially when you know that there is a right time where the price will go up again. Anyways, I don't see Bitcoin reach $6k this instant but maybe in the coming days it will.

that is only because bitcoin price went up and although all the altcoins got dumped today, they still are being reported on coinmarketcap against USD which doesn't make sense for 80% of them. as a result that unimaginable supply multiplied by the small rise creates a fake total market cap.

I'm all positive its going to reach $6k before May. It continues do so since the time it break $5k, I didn't even expect how quickly it got to $5.5k. It may be dumped again but will soon bounce again. I think the rise of BTC is because traders are now dumping altcoins for BTC, the demand goes up and so does the price. Not just today, market sentiment has been bullish for the past several weeks, right after the pump from 4.1k to 4.6k in the btc price.

About the current uptrend, it looks like two large buys triggered the spike in the price. First one was yesterday when there was a small spike in the price from 5.2k to almost 5.4k, and the another one around 10 hours ago when the price shoot up from 5380 to almost 5600. It seems like after consolidating for a bit around the 5.2k mark, we're now going to test 5.6k and see if there's enough resistance on that level. Still don't think we're going to 6k anytime soon.

All this information is not a convincing reason to say that the price could rise and break the $ 6000 barrier.
Also, the price rose from $ 5,300 to $ 5,600, an increase of $ 200, which is a normal increase and can not be relied upon as an indication that the price will break the $ 6000 barrier, at least we will not get more $ 6,700 soon.

Not because the price breached the $5,500 level, we can now conclude that it really breaks the "resistance".

There is no bull or bearish resistance in the first place around that level. We can't called a price level as having a strong "resistance" if it will just lasted for about few days. Technically, the bull impact takes places on that level and the momentum continues to the current level.

What to do now? It will be a game of patience for you. Remember that not because the price is almost going to breached $6,000+, it will be surely happen. We can't just closed the doors for possible price swing to where the trend started. If you are eyeing for long term, anything around $5,000 is considered as cheap price by speculators.

It already happened so don't dwell with that mistake and start learning from that. You can listen to someone that gives you his/her opinion about the market but don't let him influence your decision making. It is not too late to get in before this bull run continues up to 5 digits again. You need to buy before that happens and if there will be some bad news and bad predictions, learn to hold and believe with what you are doing. HODL and you will be fine.

In terms of price increase I think that Bitcoin's price movement is a little bit fast and is scary to think off. If you are a holder you will be happy with the current happening in the cryptocurrencies market but if you are waiting for bitcoin to pull back so that you can buy at the cheapest price then you maybe going out of the next bull run.  I like what is happening because I desire bitcoin to be going up the more.  I think the next resistance is around $5870 and if that is broken then bitcoin will be heading towards $8000.

It will continue to increase, don't worry about that. We have seen the crypto in the lower price, and since this year, all coins were already to gets up and adjust the price to the higher price. And that happened too with bitcoin price, and now we break $5000 again.

I think if everything were running well, we would see bitcoin reach $6k soon and perhaps, and it will reach on this month. The price still up and down and I think there is massive buy and sell order at the market but the dump of bitcoin price will always there.

And now, the price is at $5400 after it gets dump deeper than a few hours before but the line still moving to go up so perhaps, the dump is for the correction of the price. I hope that we will see another pump that will happen later.

$100 (1%) is also a huge dump considering the recent trend of bitcoin. I have seen that once the price drops, it keeps dropping. It took 4 months to increase by $1000 and even if it reaches $6k, it may be for an hour or two and then again we'll see a huge drop. I won't be able to sell my coins so fast as even exchanges will have huge sell orders due to the dumping. On most exchanges, I can see more sell orders than buy orders which proves that people just want to dump their coins rather than invest in BTC.

I absolutely don't sympathise with anyone who doesn't take responsibility for their own actions. Am I going to kill McAfee if BTC doesn't hit 1 million dollars by 2020? And as much as I disregard him, he's surely got a lot more clout than some random friend some guy "believes in so much".

Well, you made a mistake.  Those kind of errors are very easy to make if you're betting on the price of bitcoin--and I'm not sure why your friend made that prediction, but it sounds like he/she believes in TA based on the way you wrote what was told to you.  I think TA is a bunch of hooey nonsense, but in any case all you had to do was look at bitcoin's momentum to realize that it was probably going to break through $5400.  The market is very bullish right now and it might stay that way for a while.

More TA speak, but I agree with what you said.  It seems like just yesterday that bitcoin was stuck in the $3300-$3600 range and had been there for many months.  That's one hell of a gain it's seen, and I'm just hoping it doesn't go up too much too soon, like it did in 2017.  If that happens, we're in for another crash and I for one don't want that.

Altcoins seem to be getting pounded, btw.  I took a big hit on some PIVX I own, but I'm hoping on a market rebound.  We all make trading mistakes.

BTC is looking great again. But we will see massive resistance around 6k USD per BTC. So be prepared for scenario where BTC could head lower. This scenario is most likely for my case. I think you can call it whatever you want either "trend" or "support/resistance" or whatever but in the end we all know bitcoin stops at certain prices when it hits those numbers and than moves between those numbers much quicker.

For example, this was very very clear on 4200 level, its not that clear right now so I am going to give example from those days. People saw that bitcoin couldn't break 4200 a few times and started to trade according to that, they sold at 4200 and they bought lower which made it even harder to break the 4200 levels.

This is happening the same today as well, we try to go up and when we fail we go back down a bit and people sell their coins at high which makes it harder for us to go even higher, if people just hold their coins instead of selling we could break more barriers and get even higher.

From my own analysis using daily timeframe as a point of reference btc has broken a strong resistance at $5300 and had retraced back to resistance turns support thus a bullish trend is imminent and might heads to another strong resistance at $6000 hence its not appropriate time to sell now.

I believe this, gradually they have begun to enter this extreme market since a month ago and this has been predicted since January earlier this year. That's something a known drop. This form of growth has been taking place with bitcoin from the starting days of the year. Whenever there is some good growth due to corrective factor or due to manipulation there happens a big dump and further it recovers within specific time period. Price fluctuate all the time, since this year we are $1,500 and that doesnt suit you ( for your information some price from the start of this year was $3,500, in some moment you could buy bitcoin under that price! It is actually very stable, as you can see the current market is having a good pattern. Usually it goes down by the end of the month and that is pretty normal but then the lowest price is slowly getting higher.

Bitcoin can't go high as much in just one month so I think, the incoming months will be the pumping time of bitcoin slowly but making sure that we will not dump lower anymore. And previous to that, people also forgot that it jumped from 4k to 5k just because of one single entity triggering 100million of buy orders. I was looking forward to the price to climb as high as that, but it didn’t happen in the month of April. So I guess it’s going to be in this month of May that we are going to see the price move up to $6000 for a BTC. I agree mate, the situation kept building a strong momentum as we're heading forward for a huge capability on price increase. The biggest investors are yet to come, so just stay calm and don't rush all things out. Some news blog already posted the reason why BTC suddenly fell to $6,200 but immediately returned or bounce back to $7,000++ price level and it was a big relief to majority of holders but bad news for those traders that been affected due to 1 trade mistake.

It's already hit $8k, and it's down and up again to $8k.
But for heading back to $6k, I am not sure, but I don't expect we will see that price in this year or the next year.
But everything could be possible, especially if there is a flash dump that is happening in many exchanges and if that is happening, then I guess many people will be panic.

You are surely right now we are at the end of bearish market but still the price is increasing day by day, this developing process will not end until it get our expected result, so I am investing with the hope to see more than 8k but if we will hold few more time or an year sp we can see above 10k as well, but I am 6k is the current market price.
