I have posted this tools in Bitcoin Discussion, but it was deleted, the OP has told me I can create another thread for that. I think maybe I have posted it in wrong boards.

I have developed a chrome extension which help you monitor your balance in real time, I'm not redevelop another wallet, I just develop a tool to help who need check balance more than 5 times. It can save you much time, you do need to stop your work, pick up your iPhone and enter some wallet app and switch from every wallet to check the balance. This extension check your total balance in every minute, and alert you when you receive more BTC.

Some one think chrome extension is too dangers, they think I will insert some mining code or collect their address and other info. They just partly right. The chrome extension could run long time in your computer, and can access many data.But in other side, the Chrome Webstore has a strict permissions manager, you can check the permissions of the extension, it just need blockchain.info(for check balance) and coindesk(for check the BTC Price) they are famous service provider, you can totally trust them. And I'm not a guy who just want to make money, I don't charge before someone think it's useful.

Disregarding technical aspects, most people really don't want to install any browser's extensions coming from an unknown source at any cost even it was an open source and anyone are free to check if there are hidden stuff.

Since the tool is quiet common, instead of installing extensions, they will used the most convenient way.

Maybe they will consider if there's something special aside from balance monitoring.

nowadays, with high rate of fraud that crypto enthusiasm has suffered from hackers, I doubt if anyone would want to take the risk of installing an extension to track balances of crypto wallets. If it is an open source, where is the GitHub that people who are interested can have a look at the source code to ascertain if it is safe to install? They are a lot of Apps to monitor your app on the go without open a tab of any browser.

An extension should only be used if you want to read or write the raw code in the browser.

Make a simple website.

Why not a website? I've been looking for a tracker that I can keep open and I'll get a notification whenever I receive BTC. I've been keeping blockchain.com open, but constantly refreshing the tab when I want updates is annoying when I want to get a notification for a transaction?

Browser extensions are super suspicious. There's been multiple crypto and other scams involving it and I would never download one that isn't fully verified.

Why not just create a watch-only wallet in Electrum? It will achieve the same goal, will be more secure and safe, will have more features like the ability to create signed transactions, and it will also send you system notifications when you receive a transaction. What unique features can your extension offer that are not available in Electrum or other wallets?

I agree, why not develop a website and offer notifications via email, sms, or telegram?
we won't be sitting in front of the computer all the time just to monitor our balance,
so having notifications sent to mobile device thru messenger apps or email would be great

A Chrome Extension doesn't not need a tab, it will stay on the right of chrome forever. and it has no sense of existence when you are work.

and The Chrome Webstore would protect from malicious codes. and the permissions manager will keep I do not access you data and do not post data in background.

aha I'm not redevelop a wallet. It's a little tools, it doesn't need your privateKey, it's design for some one check many times balance in one day, but do not transfer one BTC in one week.
It will save you much time. It's just a productivity util. Do not need break your formed habits.

Aha, I think what you want is a mobile App.  . you can try the imToken or trust wallet  , my extension is a little tools for some one who spent much time on the computer.

I am one of those most people before I install an extension I want an extensive and impartial review  of the extension, and reviews of their source code, I only install extensions that have a good record but we'll check your extensions from time to time and will recommend it to my friends who need such tool.

Believe me, as long as there are services that do the same thing as your extension with minimal risk, no one will download that add-on. "Pls try it" do not make a difference.

If blockchain.info is your only explorer, how do you deal with bc1's addresses?
Also, traders will not benefit where the difference in price (platform & coindesk) can be significant.

Yes, the extension is not support bc1's, I will change to other API like blockcypher if many people need that.
The coindesk can query history price, I used it to calc the percent of increase

Maybe sticking to creating a site or Telegram bot for this purpose is better than creating an extension. Regardless of what your reason for choosing extension as you explained above, the market is not ready or already has favorites for this portfolio tracking thing.

If you choose to create a bot, then you'll directly compete with bot-like ETH token explorer which can be easily outclassed if you can provide support for various coins/tokens.

I’m wondering if there have been any changes since this was posted? Upon reading the topic description and comments from other users, I’d also like to give some suggestions.

Yes, I would like to see a Chrome Extension just like Metamask, but I hope there are multiple screens of protection since pretty much everything on the internet is penetrable. Maybe once you’ve launched this extension with its updates, you could furthermore go into apps. Like one app and it could access different sites you want to reach (plus you could also bookmark your fave apps then click them, and it’ll automatically redirect you to your account on that site). I’d also prefer getting notifications, and maybe one could be given options whether they want it thru email, SMS, or telegram (or all three). I hope there could also be a converter for the currency you prefer plus an option of a calculator — everything you need all in one. To be clear, I’m not demanding anything. I want to help improve the convenience of our lives.
