Yes, you got it right i can smell something fishy that has to do with govt regulation(s). Presently, i donot how how this is going to affect us a part of btc communty but, for sure it will put most people a tight corner. Most trader's who has insight has started making plan in case if, this should take place in future. *Unfortunately, they fail to warn or alert other member's. The experience, i had today is not a good sign when i was trying to sell-off bitcoin in my wallet. Let's hope is not what most of us has been predicting over a period of year's now Because, if, it is, it will make trading unprofitable to most of us. For now, i'll like to keep this very brief without going into detail's NOTE : "i wise son see's danger and take heed but, i fool caught there-in !!"The person who kill's a prophet might likely kill the decendant of that prophet!!Thanks Btcseo

Well, if government will intervene with the rulings in cryptocurrency then I do not think that is a bad omen instead it is the opposite. Yes, it may take another fees from the government on watching over the btc markets and the users who are involve but this does not matter for many users will be encourage to join and contribute or invest in bitcoin just like to what Foreign exchange trading that was being regulated and adapted by the government and to the users all over the world.

This must have something to do with government taking action to regulate cryptocurrency in their country or might be banning cryptocurrency. OP must have included even small details about your experience so that readers will not be baffled with your passage.

OP must have included even small details about your experience so that readers will not be baffled with your passage. We have seen governments already regulating crypto or even banning it as far as we know. But it scary though is governments taking legal actions against crypto exchanges, just like what NY AG office did to Bitfinex. So this could set a precedence that could have ripple effects to the community and that it could have negative impacts us traders.

I think the government may come up and issue licenses to their approved exchanges, and insist on compulsory full KYC, of course this will affect nations under sanctions, We saw how the popular blockchain wallet has been collecting KYC for $25 airdrop. We really can't tell what has been pushing them, this should be pressure from the government I guess. I hope regulations will be favorable to the community.

Many governments are watching the cryptocurrency market as it keeps on growing and this is done under many good grounds (though of course, in many cases there are also villains who have bad intentions). The thing is that the government has to make sure that transparency, fairness and protection of the consumers are all installed as far as possible. This is the work of SEC. The other big ground is of course, collecting taxes since this is a big business the government will really be coming in to get its legal and fair share of financial activities going on. Now, countries like Russia and China got their own different mindset as far as Bitcoin is concerned so if these countries will be doing something that can constrict Bitcoin then it will not anymore be surprising.

Exactly narrating some details about the experience when selling the bitcoin will have doused the tension invariably others sellers will be aware of. I guess its has to do with government regulatory policy particularly in some unfriendly cryptocurrencies country, of course the action taken by the authorities in that country might not be tenable in other countries where Cryptos is allowed though regulated.

So what evil did you foresee coming? You didn't write that down in your OP so it kept me guessing since you say trading won't be profitable and the only thing I can think of, is the government putting too many regulations that people will lose interest in bitcoin which will result in the decrease of price but I do believe bitcoin will always find a way to survive don't forget it did survive 10 years without any help from the government instead it's heavily been criticize of helping fraudsters, drug dealers etc to carryout anonymous transaction without been able to track but they fail to appreciating the good side to the technology like privacy, decentralization, transparency etc. Personally I do believe in future the government will realize bitcoin isn't going anywhere anytime soon so they'll have no choice but to accept the technology.

How can it be a warning if you didn't indicate the most important details, like what you have experienced and how it went through.
Trading will always be profitable for most but it is not for everyone. If there's a way to explain and put in details what's that bad sign you had, you can enlighten everyone who are curious about that.

I appreciate your kind gesture on warning the Bitcoin community. I am not sure what went wrong while you were trying to sell your BTC. It would be nice if you can share your experience. Regulating Cryptos will have their pros and cons, which I am sure most of us are aware of. One of the major cons will be trading anonymously are you referring to that?

If there is anything to be warned about, then you should at least have the decency to give an insight as to what it is, this big evil you foresaw that know one else can know about and yet you expect people to take this serious? am seriously brainstorming to come up with a possible clue of anything that could have a heavy impact on the crypto community what was the experience you had? your btc refuse to move or it disappear and reappear in your wallet? or btc suddenly grows horn? i wonder what what a fine way to pass a warning!!!

Nah, I don't think that something bad will be coming to the market. We have seen worst in our first 10 years already and I don't think that we can't overcome new hurdles and test along the way.
Traders will be traders and the market will move even if there is an attack from entity outside. As per our experience, bitcoin is very resilient and was able to withstand such malicious FUD.

As a high ranking member of this community you should be well informed on how things are done in the forum, you just came in here and give a panicking insight to what the government are planning to do without giving details of your experience. This may cause many newbies to panic and you know what that means.

This is just FUD! posting.... The poster posts some unrevealed "experience" and suddenly wants to warn people that the sky is falling. We will only start reacting on bad news, when 1000s of people start reporting bad experiences from one service. <Like we saw with MtGox> The latest Bitfinex witch-hunt by the US government is just a storm in a cup and none of the Bitfinex users reported that they had any problems with withdrawals on a massive scale.

If they will be aiming at exchanges, that will be big. I may be guessing but I think it will be the start of another FUD. I am not saying that the OP is starting it but this topic will eventually lead there and another dump might be in the corner. As I said, this will be big if they are aiming exchanges, it will not just be Bitcoin but all the cryptocurrencies affected since we are talking here about exchanges.
