Hello, It's my first post, excuse me if it's the wrong section.

I have a life threatening problem and it's my fault.

on the 28th on april I sent around 0.7 BTC  from my binance account,  to a BCHSV address starting with the letter 1  on poloniex.
currently the balance of circa 0.7 BTC shows correctly.

0.7 btc was all I had, it was everything for me.
again,  I sent BTC to a BCHSV address.  is it lost?

I contacted binance support and they told me they cannot do anything.
I also contacted poloniex and they said they will attempt to recover my funds and send it to the correct receiving address.
they told me that it's risky, costly and time consuming, and they don't usually try to help with this situations
but that they will attempt to refund me in 4+ weeks.

I wanted to ask if sending BTC core to a BCHSV address starting with the letter 1 means effectively burning the tokens
or if I have the chance to have my 0.7 btc back.

does poloniex have the private key and can reverse the transaction?

BTCBTCBTCBTCBTC

here is what POLONIEX told me,  4 hours later
To avoid this situation in the future, please take extra caution when depositing funds to make sure the coins match the wallet you are depositing to. Poloniex generally does not offer a token/coin recovery service because the process to recover tokens is extremely complicated and may result in significant cost, time, and risk. We will investigate your case but we can't guarantee a recovery will be possible.

In order to begin this process, please provide:

    Token name
    Your correct Poloniex deposit address
    Amount
    Transaction ID

As previously stated, we can attempt to recover these funds, but there is no guarantee it can be done, nor do we offer a timeline for this process. We appreciate your patience. We will be in touch with you as soon as we have an update, but please note this process could take several weeks or more.

let me know if I can unf*** myself somehow
Thank you.
(ps:  I moved funds 10 times that night but only the last I did the mistake with ctrl+V, unmindfully)

If Poloniex has access to the receiving address private key they can recover your 0.7 bitcoins, only they can do it though.
They can not reverse the transaction but they can access the bitcoins with the private key and allocate them to your account.
There is nothing you can do yourself to get your bitcoins back since you don't have access to the receiving address private key.

The owner of the BCHSV address should have the private key for the BTC wallet too of that same 1* address and get to recover your Bitcoins.
There's a very good chance your money is not lost.

The only problem is that probably Poloniex handles a huge number of addresses, possibly from a big number of different wallets, meaning that they'll have to do some search to find your BCHSV receiving wallet's private key.
And I guess that for the support your problem is not a high priority also.

So you have your chances, but you need patience.

I would, however, not expect them to "revert" transaction. Instead you should give them your Poloniex bitcoin address (and tell them it's a polo address) to send there.

I gave them the supposedly correct BTC address on my poloniex account as soon as possible.
since I posted this thread in > other > beginners and help, I've been told things that confirm your relative positivity.
thank you for this  Kiss

>they can access the bitcoins with the private key and allocate them to your account.
I hope they will be somehow human, I'll be glad to pay a fee for my mistake. Thank you.
as per the btc, it shouldn't be burned at all.  now its all up to polo.  (yn)

I had the same question about this, too and thank you for the clear answer.  I never actually sent BTC to a BCH address but I knew it was possible to do so and a warning popped up one time when I sent some BCH to Binance.

And yeah, Poloniex I'm sure deals with an enormous number of issues, but to the best of my knowledge they're honest and should try to help OP out eventually.  It may take some patience, but hopefully they'll help and the issue will get resolved.  Good luck, OP.

Didn't you use the escrow protection while sending the funds? Anyways, don't do that if you are not 100% secure sending and receiving fund from other users. Instead you can use some crypto exchange websites which I usually follow exchange.all-stocks.net It give me 100% satisfaction and calmness.

"ETC to ETH"'s case is similar to that of the user above so you should get the same response.
I think you made a mistake in explaining where the restoration of ERC20 tokens is a completely different "harder than hard fork recovery."
These mistakes are personal and the platform needs to be investigated, as well as reliable people in order to return the coins so they will not do it unless there is sufficient motivation.

This is the main problem because not all exchangers do really offer out such recovery unless if the amount is just big to neglect on
yet they do ask out some fee for such service and that sufficient motivation is the hardest part to seek on thats why we should really be keen
on sending out coins on a certain designated address.

Stop shilling out this shitty exchange and it has nothing to do with the topic.

eeshomashika, what is the result of your case? I hope everything fine with your btc.
Reading such cases helps me to be more accurate in sending any coin.
