Venezuela: Guaidó pledges end of Maduro era in militaristic video

Flanked by soldiers near Caracas airbase, opposition leader promises liberation

A military uprising appears to be under way in Venezuela after the opposition leader, Juan Guaidó, posted a video of himself flanked by soldiers, promising to end the rule of President Nicolás Maduro .
Venezuela opposition leader claims coup is under way – live news
Read more

“The moment is now,” Guaidó said in a three-minute speech, apparently filmed just before dawn on Tuesday near La Carlota, the main military airbase in Caracas. “We are going to achieve liberty and democracy for Venezuela.”

Standing beside Guaidó as he spoke was Leopoldo López, an opposition politician who is meant to be under house arrest.

As the video ended, the camera moves to show a few dozen troops lined up, apparently in front of armoured troop carriers.

This morning we were awaken by news of a military uprising. There is A LOT of info on social media, not much (nearly nothing) in traditional media...
Guaidó is near a military base in Caracas, with at least 2000 armed people, both military and police (even from the secret police) who have rebelled against Maduro. While there was a planned massive demonstration for tomorrow, today surprisingly this event occurred, they are calling civilians to go there as well, as they have taken military control in the area.

The de-facto regime has been taken by surprise, apparently sending some military units who have been seized by the rebels, wearing blue ribbons.
Perhaps starting today, Maduro's regime will finally come to an end. But this is only starting...

Internet has been severly censored since early morning, this "firewall" has often failed in the past when traffic is massive (ironic isn't it?) and currently it has failed again letting censored sites open again (i do have my own countermeasures to avoid censorship).

This is ongoing news...

A military uprising appears to be under way....
The use of soldiers signals to those who follow Maduro that it's finally over, and that they can have refuge and not fear.

That's the final moment, yes.

Going forward will be hard. But that is different than the hopelessness of communism.

Just saw this on reddit. Surprisingly, looks like things haven't scalated to a major conflict given how this time Guaido has armed forces on his side.

It also looks that this whole thing started far away from the Miraflores Palace, which is the presidential workplace, and none of the government facilities have been seized by Guaido's forces, and there aren't any other sublevations from other military forces outside of Caracas...So, I feel like this coup will be nothing but another failure for the opposition. Maduro still has the majority of the military on his side, this will not end well for Guaido.

One way or another, Venezuela is going to become another USA State!

Blackwater Founder Calling For 5,000 Mercenaries To Topple Maduro

According to Reuters, Prince — the brother of billionaire Education Secretary Betsy DeVos who has over the past years since selling his mired-in-controversy Blackwater group (now Academi) revived his mercenary empire in China in the form of Frontier Services Group (FSG) — intends to "deploy a private army to help topple Venezuela's socialist president, Nicholas Maduro".

Pri[n]ce has reportedly sought access to Trump administration officials to whom he's attempting to pitch the whole operation, said to involve some 5,000 soldiers-for-hire to be used by opposition leader Juan Guaido, according to multiple sources who spoke to Reuters. The controversial private security CEO has sought investments from both Trump supporters and wealthy Venezuelan exiles, and reportedly held meetings over the plan as recently as mid-April.

Neither the White House nor Guaido opposition representatives have confirmed they were entertaining such a plan, with the latter denying altogether that Guado's team had even spoken with Prince or FSG reps.

I understand that the Washington puppet Manuel Figuera has been exposed, and his attempt to hijack the military failed. When will DC realise that their incompetent support for Guaido makes the politicians look like bumbling fools, and it discredits the honest and hard working American people who don't want all these wars to force illegal, regime changes.

It's time the Deep State stopped trying to steal Venezuela's oil, and gave Venezuela a chance to rebuild its economy.

The demonstrations against Maduro continued today in many cities:

While Maduro's people attempted to keep the population from demonstrating at gun point in some places:

Socialism and women: Obey or get beaten...

Photographer shot by Maduro's national guard for covering the events:

Another journalist wound in the face:

Here the "tactical police squad" (FAES) detains (kidnaps) a demonstrator. Often they are thrown in prison without ever seen a lawyer for years, they do the same to foreigners, journalists, even people returning from work. They just don't care as they feel above the law. There is no rule of law in this country, only the rule of Maduro and his people.

Venezuela crisis: Dozens injured in clashes in Caracas

A woman was shot dead and dozens injured in the Venezuelan capital Caracas on Wednesday, in clashes between opposition supporters and pro-government forces.

Meanwhile, Mr Guaidó called for a series of strikes to force President Nicolás Maduro to relinquish power.

But Mr Maduro - who is backed by Russia, China and the leaders of Venezuela's military - has refused to cede power.

There were reports of gunfire in the city, and a local NGO, the Venezuelan Observatory of Social Conflict, said a 27-year-old woman had been shot dead during a rally in the opposition stronghold of Altamira.

At least 46 people were injured in clashes between opposition supporters and the security forces.

This woman wasn't just shot in the head, she was beaten and kicked by Maduro's supporters, not unlike what this video shows in my previous post.

What does Venezuela being a US puppet state entail, and is this better than being a puppet state for another country?

I was not surprised, just stating the facts. People in this forum are unaware the traditional media is entirely controlled by the government, including private owned media. The last radio that gave voice to the opposition was shut down that day. Censorship is now complete in the airwaves of Caracas.

Any way, already for the whole century Latin America is a playground for US foreign policy.
Everyone knows this because it's just that way.
America has too many strategic, economic, political and other interests there and will not let anyone upset their plans.
Maduro will realize soon or later that he can not stand on the road to America and defy them.
In the long term, America will win here and help Guaidó to become president.
I'm sure that Guaidó didn't start this action without support and help from America.

Luckily, people on this forum are not watching any kind of Venezuelan medias. But at the same time, all european news channels are showing everything they know about the situation in your country.  Also this situation is highlighted on most informational websites and social media. So don't worry, we don't live in informational vacuum.

I don't even have to comment on this because Anya Parampil laid it all out clearly.  I can't believe foxnews (or any major network) let her talk.  I thought they vetted everyone to ensure neoliberal bias.
