What about a virus/plague?  You don't want to be burying those bodies directly in the ground, or they could continue to poison the area.  Placing any of the deceased directly into a plastic tub sounds like a lot better idea than leaving them laying around until they can be buried, or burying them in the ground without any protection where it could taint water supplies, etc.

I'm with RodeoX - it's better to be prepared for whatever happens.  Just because they are preparing for something like that to happen does not mean they are PLANNING for something like that to happen.

Yeah, coffins weren't invented out of superstitious tradition but for very practical reasons. Dead bodies floating out into riverbeds and water sources got old after awhile.

Exactly. If 50k people are suddenly dead from a quake, disease becomes a huge issue. And notice how the "concentration camps" are empty. Doesn't it make more sense that FEMA would be involved because that is the kind of thing needed in an emergency?

You want a coffin for a funeral don't you? "And now we flop the body into the ground".

Sure, what would I care? I'm dead.

Prop open the mouth of my corpse and let everyone who hated me piss in it at my funeral for all I care. "I" won't exist anymore, "my" opinion won't matter.

Full burial is a waste now anyway. I have it in my will that I demand a funeral pyre in the Norse tradition. The more smoke the better, I've actually held on to every used tire that's come off my cars because I want them all used to help make more smoke (they are technically possessions), but mostly because paying $3 for someone to dispose of them is for chumps.

Floating me out on a lake is optional, and I leave the logistics of doing all this legally as one final joke on my family because I'm so awesome I deserve it.

I may consider purchasing one of those cryonic plans where I can freeze my brain or entire body in hope for future medical advances that will theoretically allow me and others to cheat death. "theoretically" however...

You can make monthly payments I think I once read or you can make one off payments. A one off payment for brain preservation starts at $90,000, I believe I once read. Worth it for a shot for a longer life?

But look at the martial law training. Don't you dislike that? And surely FEMA re-location camps are also scary?
