The richest people are richer because they own more bitcoins like the whales accumulate more. As for people going bankrupt, I'm not surprised but it's a reminder for everyone to repeat Bitcoin is not an investment. I guess some need to learn it the hard way.
Now you say the price goes down, yes if we compare to 2018-2019, but it went from $4k to 5,5k the last 6 months so I would say the price is going up instead

Bitcoin already have a high price in order to "suddenly" make someone rich. Earlier you could buy 1000 BTC for just a couple dollars. With BTC worth over $10 no one would buy it just for fun, as almost all early adopters did.
On the other side there are Bitcoin traders that are taking their profit out of price fluctuations, that can be seen on every market. So many people still can become rich with a help of BTC, but now they need to have some skills.

Newbies were once restricted to only one section of the forum for threads malformed and half complete like this.     But I get the point made, I disagree mostly for a super simple reason which is ongoing weakness in the dollar, inflation or growth at least in revenues is in not much doubt.

The world economy could be alot stronger, similarly online and many sectors of the economy could and should be stronger but the base line for the world is ongoing growth all the same.   Population growth in the world is definitely occurring, which means greater demand and requirement for business to furfil that demand.

Crypto isnt becoming less important, I dont think its becoming weaker or less needed.   I'm not seeing any major flaw to expect its sudden end, regardless of price direction the need for development and progress in this new sector of secure transaction is needed and will occur one way or another.

Many people assume BTC is zero sum, thats not really true so long as its meeting some utility requirement and I got no doubts on that really

That's where you're wrong OP. There are a lot of people who are still getting handsome profits all over the market even if the prices are down and it seems that bitcoin's end is inevitable. Shorters know this feeling and have been capitalizing on the decline ever since, only for bulls to gain the upper yet again on recent times. I'm more inclined to believe thag there have been more people who has become richer recently weven if the increase is just $200 from $3000 levels.
