Alts worth staking

I was looking stakingrewards.com and I'm honestly not familiar with POS coins so I was hoping someone could suggest something to use.

I thought about IOST or Livepeer but not sure. I would prefer something that doesn't require that much of an investment to start.

i don't know about IOST and livepeer is a kind of Pos coins,,
because as i know both are still a token now, not a coin(correct me if i'am wrong)
maybe you should learn about PIVX, this coin is good POS coin for me, also you can run a masternode too my friend

I think there are some decent ones out there that actually look good. Though NOT the traditional kind of staking, I think projects such as CATT, Anyone, MiracleTele that give out dividends just for holding or locking down their tokens for a period of time are worthy examples of altcoins with a reasonable staking plan. Fortunately, these are projects with decent teams and products. You can check them out.

Indeed PIVX can be good start, also maybe you can afford a masternode, on market is also XLR but staking rewards are low, and also they offer possibility to run a masternode with 1000 coins, is your choice, if you run a masternode of any coin you will need a vps or a dedicated service to run it.

Most of POS coins that will give you nice income need much money to start it. If you want to stake a coin which just needs a little amount of money to start then forget about income, go find unpopular or a new coin (which has a great team and idea) and follow its growth.

You will get a collection of POS coins advertised with Cobowallet and how to easily stake them (within the wallet),you could Veil (privacy coin) is looking nice at the moment, it is both a POW/POS hybrid consensus. Reward is about 50 Veil daily for about 13000 coins staked. I don't know how long but the project is just kicking-off.

It's nothing but ONT is one of those coins you can expect to be be worth much more (it's only a $1 right now) and so is ONG.
So why not take the free coins ?

What happens when one continues to get monthly rewards for a coin one didn't stake? What is that called? I keep getting monthly reward for Ethshift (not yet listed on CMC) and I never staked it.

That's because when you stake ONT, you receive ONG, Ontology's GAS.
Same as when you stake NEO, you receive GAS.

Staking is the new model for lending coins.
But it's not getting the hype yet, maybe people are still have a stigma with lending coins that gained profit every day but at the end we can't withdraw

I would recommend a closer look at SEMUX. This is not exactly a POS coin (BFT Consensus with validators), but it gives 40% per year.
Now is a good price to enter.

I've been staking IOST from the beginning. First days or weeks it was getting good tokens for reward. But last days, prize getting smaller day by day. So, staking so easy and people getting in naturally. Don't expect too much gain from staking.

This is the biggest disadvantage of PoS. If you expect a bigger profit then the capital amount you invest should be way bigger.
If invest in popular coins you will get very less profit and if you invest in less popular coins then there will always be a risk of losing money.

IOST officially launched there mainnet a few months ago. The ecosystem is very DAPP friendly and anyone with a skillset in coding javascript can make an App. They're fairly new and there team claims to have solved EOS's Node partnership problems and it even processes more transactions than the etheruem blockchain.
    It's main factor is the community, theres big supporters on the official IOST telegram channel. They strive for fairness with proof of believability concensus algorithm.
