We all know that Bitcoin's private key consists of 256 numbers or letters. However, with the adoption of bitcoin on a large scale. BTC accounts will be more and more. When the number of Bitcoin accounts is large enough, any 256 numbers and combinations of letters may be a private key. People can rely on guesswork to get bitcoin in their account.

i think the private key of Bitcoin should not be a fixed 256 bit. it should be able to change in an interval. the user can select the number of digits of its private key. For example: between 500 characters and 256 characters.

Why is it a public number: 256 bits?
The character of the private key is a privacy. The number of digits in the private key should also be a privacy.

People can guess private keys? Seriously? No one is capable of doing that genius. Many have tried to crack these keys in different ways(Brute force etc), but failed which is why a large portion of BTC is lost basically.

Supercomputers could possibly crack them in the future, but it would still be really difficult.

Cracking a private key will take sooooooo much time before you actually land upon a wallet with actual bitcoin in it. You'd be dead of old age, and you'd still not be close to actually finding one.

I suggest taking a look at this old thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=139735.0

If you are guessing, there's nothing genius in it.

Agree on this, I think even a genius person could not even crack even one of million private keys exixting. Using a super computer to crack private key combination might not be possible, or could be possibe but might take ages.

Of course, it is not now. It is a potential problem. When the number of Bitcoin accounts is large enough. It will be easier and easier.

What the correlation between the number of bitcoin account and its possibility to guess the private key? No matter how much the number of bitcoin account is, the possibility to guess the private key remain the same (wont be easier) imho.

Cracking a particular account private key can be very difficult. However, as Bitcoin accounts continue to grow at a large scale. At some point in the future, any combination of 256 numbers and letters may be a private key. People can guess the private key of an account.

we make a hypothesis based on some time in the future. The Bitcoin account is one trillion. Assumption: 256 numbers or combinations of letters are 2 trillion (it can be calculated by mathematical formulas, here we make a hypothesis) Then: any modification of the letters in the private key, it will be the private key of an account .

It also applies to altcoins. But the number of Bitcoin accounts is the largest. It needs to make changes first.

I allow you to take ALL of my Bitcoins as soon as you guess my private key and after that brute my wallet. I can even consider giving you my password if you show me my private key lol.
It will take decades for any existing computer to get a propper private key and then it may take the same time to brute its password (ofc it was set properly).
The existing amount of words is more than enough.

You're saying like you can hack a private key.

I mean if you will be doing the math, there are still a lot of combination to do. Also, it is possible but the thing is that we all know that people won't just let that happen. They said that the creation of quantum computer can make this happen, but I think the private keys are developed before that is released. We don't need to think about that.

After having tried for the past 60 years, for some reason you end up with my private key. To your dismay you find that it is password protected.
After another 60 years your grandchildren finally managed to get access, just to discover all moved as i distributed it all with my last will.
Some people can not deal with large numbers (you one of them) thats also the reason Ripple can keep the xrp hocks-pockus going for now.

"The existing Visa credit card network processes about 15 million Internet purchases per day worldwide. Bitcoin can already scale much larger than that with existing hardware for a fraction of the cost. It never really hits a scale ceiling."  Satoshi Nakamoto, April 2009          Avoiding taxes is totally legal if you consider and respect the law.

If it was possible, i mean even if there was a slight possibility for it to happen, bitcoin wouldn't exist now.

Bitcoin is either secure or it isn't.

Bitcoin works just like a casino (forgive me for this explanation). Many players come and go and try to outbest the casino but the house always wins in the end. If it was possible to beat the odds, the house/casino wouldn't exist.

Bitcoin is the house.

If the new advancements in technology possess any threats to bitcoin's security model, I am sure the devs will take action in no time.

For now It is not necessary, how do I know? If it was possible we would see shitton of hacked private keys everywhere all over the internet. It is only possible if you use weak passwords, insecure computers etc which has nothing to do with bitcoin's secuirty model.

Supercomputers can be the quantum computers which supposedly can crack coded and keys like the chicken eggs. That time can be coming but then again in parallel to this there can developed security measures to counteract the whole thing...so this can be just another opportunity to do business for security-focused software companies. I still believe though that it can be so difficult for any program to get into these private keys.

The danger of bitcoin getting cracked has to do with the eventual rise of quantum supercomputers, which will be able to perform calculations orders of magnitude greater than today's computers. These computers will be able to obtain private keys pretty easily. Of course, the core developers will likely implement countermeasures some time in the future before these computers arrive.

the possibility that a private key is cracked is very remote, it is easier to lose it or have it stolen by a virus-infected computer...

That's not the case, you should read more about it. Even if you have such big computational power, you can make more money with that instead of finding private keys with btc.

Guess work is something that won't at all work when we are thinking of a number this long and even with most advanced computers and software's to just hack one key on time will take a lot of time .. trust me a lot.

There are some softwares who actually work on their own to get the key but even for a WiFi password they take days or weeks therefore for this , for getting key of one person come on ! It cannot happen because after finding every key one would have to check , by checking means sending some money on to that address and seeing if that exists so will you keep sending a dollar like million times ?

Because if you see it's 24 alphabets ( capital)* 24 alphabets ( small ) numbers 0-1

It's too much if you apply mathematics.

256 combination of number and letters?
How could you manually guess it the same number and letter at the same place?
