Need some clarification on last edited message {solved}

I don't think it's still a news, noticing the last edit message on a post, If that post have been edited 10mins after it was first posted but what I still don't get is why our names are always on the last edit message.
                                  
Here (image above), it says last edit by CryptopreneurBrainboss, why those it have to state my  name when I'm the writter of the post or can someone else edit my post. If moderators or other forum members can't modify my posts why does the last edit message still have to state my name as the editer I don't get it.

Admins (and maybe Mods?) can actually modify your posts. I'm not sure if they ever did, but they can if they want.

Last edit: <date> by theymos

Otherwise, there would be no point in showing who edited it.

I think I've only seen it once but they indeed can edit any post if necessary. The case I remember, forum member was supposedly caught plagiarizing and the mod edited/removed part of his message.

I think this comes implemented from the SMF developers by default. I'm not sure that theymos would use time on this because I don't see the benefit of it. It doesn't harm me if I see my name after the last edit
