Just a quick question. I just lost a HD and have now installed linux on a new one. However I don't feels like spending the next 3 day downloading and processing 15 gigabytes of data Roll Eyes

Can I just copy the .armory and .bitcoin folders from my home directory of my laptop to my new fresh linux installation, without running into too many problems?

I'm not entirely sure about armory, but as for .bitcoin, yes, you can just copy the entire .bitcoin folder.

Thank you. That's the big one anyway  Cheesy

If someone else knows about the armory folder, I might add that it is a watching-only wallet.

I should probably point out that, while you can copy the .bitcoin directory to the new computer, you should delete the wallet.dat on the new computer (after you're sure you have a backup) and make a new one. You should never run the same wallet.dat on two computers.
