Came across a CoinMe atm today, but it required government issued ID (US), so I decided to pass on it.   Are there brands out there that don't require ID?   (to sell)

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Whichever the brand might be, probably every atm will request for some ID verification when you use it for the very first time. In countries where bitcoin usage is regulated might give anonymous support for withdrawal through ATMs.

Check this list: https://coinatmradar.com/country/226/bitcoin-atm-united-states/

If nothing about the limits and verification is stated, I suggest contacting the operator yourself.

Here is an article I've found where to buy bitcoin without using ID card.

https://coinsutra.com/best-ways-buy-bitcoins-without-id-buy-bitcoins-anonymously/

Buying thru Bitcoin ATM is number 4 on the list, I guess it depends on the jurisdiction, USA might be requiring ID to use the ATM, because as mentioned in the article it only requires you to scan your address or if you don't have an adress the ATM will generate paper wallet for you.

Try to find other bitcoin ATM since there are a lot of them in USA. Good luck, hope this helps.

The moment when fiat currencies enter the scene, KYC/AML requirements comes into play. I know a few years ago, people had some vending machines where you could buy/sell very small amounts of coins, limited to $50 without any KYC/AML requirements. Those days are gone now and I do not see any of those Bitcoin vending machines anymore. <I think regulators caught up to them and they got shutdown.>  Huh Roll Eyes

Interesting question, but I think ATM manufacturers will have to abide by the local government regulators rules and regulations or they too will get shutdown.  Angry

I doubt op can find an ATM in US where he can purchase BTC anonymously due to the regulations imposed by the government. If he wants full anonymity, he needs to stick to sites like LocalBitcoins, Binance etc in this aspect.

Some Atm brands would  require government Ids for Kyc and we can't question it since you are from U.S. where crypto is regulated. Try to choose and transact on exchanges and local crypto wallets in your country.

I think you cant find bitcoin ATM to sell bitcoins where you can sell bitcoin without using an ID,verification is a must since even though its bitcoin ATM it is still handled by the government which needs info to verify users specially if you want to be a merchant

In the United States, unlike other countries, you won't find any Atm for the crypto, Bitcoin or even others, where you can withdraw without doing Kyc / Aml.

In Italy instead there are some ATM where you can do this under a certain amount (generally 500 euros) without passing Kyc or providing any document; I've heard that even in Austria, Switzerland and France it works like in Italy.

In my country using bitcoin ATM to sell don't need to use KYC or submit any ID's that you have.

I think those Bitcoin ATM machine now are implementing KYC to become secure and have record who people are using now cryptocurrency.

Depends to the near to your place hope you can find some bitcoin ATM machine that doesn't need to pass your ID.

ATMs that don't require your ID card can only be used to buy BTC. To sell, you have no choice. There are even ATMs asking to take a picture of you with your ID card in hand. And don't even think about putting your hand in front of the device to hide. The staff seems to have been made aware that having the photo/ID is 'essential' for them. So they're watching you, to see if you're doing it right.

I found another article which is saying about how to buy bitcoin without using an ID card:
https://www.finder.com/buy-bitcoin-without-id
https://www.buybitcoinworldwide.com/kb/buy-bitcoin-without-verification-id/
https://ripplecoinnews.com/buy-bitcoin-instantly-with-credit-debit-card-without-verification

But I never tried because I cannot found any ATM in my city.
Maybe I need to wait for the next year until my government can approve cryptocurrency so there will be a local business people who will install the ATM for all people who want to buy bitcoin using ATM.
But I think we don't have to use any identification to use ATM since we only need to have bitcoin card only to make a transaction, but I don't know.

What the hell are you talking about? Posting links about how to buy BTC with a CC.
You don't need to have a "Bitcoin card" to use the ATMs  Cheesy Cheesy Also, the guy is talking about ATMs to sell bitcoins, not to buy. The perfect example of forum users that don't bother to read a conversation.

Whichever the brand might be, probably every atm will request for some ID verification when you use it for the very first time. In countries where bitcoin usage is regulated might give anonymous support for withdrawal through ATMs.

They will follow Anti Money Laundering Laws since these ATMs are operating as banks so they should be under it. Don't worry as it is a traditional way. Or better yet buy from exchanges. Its easier.
