I've been accumulating btc ever since the huge dump in December, now I'm switching to alt-coins. I strongly believe that alt-coins will experience a mini bull run vs btc in the following months.
I'm thinking to split 20% btc 15% eth and 65% other alt-coins.
Up until now I've accumulated, in the latest 3 weeks, several strong alt-coins but I'm also willing to gamble a bit with lower market-cap projects with strong development and community. That being said, right now I've already bought or I'm looking into:

Kucoin shares
Zilliqa
ZCash
Elastos
Webdollar
Dent

What you guys think? What would you improve?
What projects do come to mind if low market-cap projects with active development and lots of potential is the goal Cheesy?

Any comments would be great! Thanks!

I dont know if you were really familiar with those coins because I have not read about it yet maybe you know well about it and I dont know anything to it, Since you were holding btc since december why you dont want to stick with it? since the price are silently doing some noise rather than gambling to a coin that is not well known in the market. This is just my suggestion in the end your decision will do.

PS: I saw the price of dent and webdollar, you better avoid those coins also the ziliqa

Everybody is looking for low market cap coins with 10x or more potential, but, I'm afraid other people's opinions can't help you, really. I used to buy crypto based on opinions of so called experts. Sometimes they were right, more often not so. I might have had better chances to guess it right by flipping a coin. Or even better, not being lazy and doing my own research.

That being said, here are some of my thoughts about some of them:

Kucoin shares - not really crypto, similar to shares in any other company. The question is how much do you trust Kucoin?
Zilliqa - competitor of Ethereum, with some novel technological achievements, for example, sharding
ZCash - privacy coin with optional privacy??, I personally don't like the power the dev team has given to itself.

I hope you can try to avoid to invest in zcash and dent. both look so terrible for me because it was getting dumped by the developers and just try to put it in another coin rather than getting dumped by the developers and your money will have gone. We have a lot of potential coin just like veil and sins. it much better to buy masternode rather than put your money on dent webdollar zcash and zilliqa. They are all having a lot of issues and lack of update.

If I'm in your shoes, I would put majority on bitcoin though. Nothing against altcoins but it seems that most of the coins you listed as just for pure pump and dump scheme. Why not go 60% of bitcoin and spread the next 40% of altcoins? I'm just curious though as to why you chooses those altcoins. Did you DYOR or just join the bandwagon? Anyways, I'm not good at giving financial advises, so best of luck to you and your investments.

You should prepare for the Altcoin now because the Bitcoin is reviving it's value and trying to cross the $6000 foot mark which is very crucial point to further upward travel. But, still the Altcoins prices are now on the ground level and if increase it will be a sudden spike. So, you have to act now for investing into altcoins. Choose the ADA and TRON for your first choice.

Things look like it'll be Bitcoin the one experiencing a bull period very soon and then alts will follow the same uptrend. With that in mind, it's a pretty bad idea to completely switch to alts.

I'm thinking to split 20% btc 15% eth and 65% other alt-coins.
I feel like your allocation on alts is a bit excessive. Just because your going to invest in more low market cap coins (which is a terrible idea to begin with, if you ask me), doesn't mean that you'll profits will be bigger, in fact, you're actually risking some of your investment in those coins since they're nothing but a gamble, they may or may no increase in value in the long run.

I don't have anything to improve with the set of your choice for different altcoins that you may distribute that 65% of your total portfolio. With my experience of those alts that you are eyeing, those low cap coins, I wouldn't take a gamble with those.

My experience wasn't so good and that's why I'm staying with the best altcoins and I guess you know all of those. It may be bad for me but if you're rooting for that kind of strategy, just be sure that you are aware of the consequence and risk that may be involved.

I wouldnt take it for guaranteed that alts will follow BTC in a bull run, especially your mentioned low cap coins like dent. You could see that BTCs price moved up in the last two month, but none of the major alts really followed this movement, except ETH.

There is no best way to invest in cryptocurrency than to diversify since i was doing this for lony time now and i am proud to say that this is effective

Your sets.of altcoin is good and i must admit.that i don't have that all because all my assets are intact for this whole year and just waiting foe my sell off

Continue you plan and stick to that, never be distracted by ths market flow and believe me profit is in your way

To be honest, I know about Zcash, Ziliqa, Kucoin but I don't know the rest of the coin.
For the three coins I mention, I think those could have the potential to increase.
But it seems, the last three coins is a new project which doesn't have a history before so I think you need to be careful if you decide to buy the coin.
Many other coins could be potential in the future besides those three coins.
But make sure you analyze before you buy.

This coins has the potential, to have a good run when the price of bitcoin goes up.

In 2017 though, I mostly invested on the top 10 coins and just waited for the perfect time to dump it and book my profits. I'm also not familiar with the other 3, but it seems the OP did his own research so it's his call and goodluck.

Wow. Didn't expect so much replies. Thanks guys for all the advice!

I will modify my allocation to 50% btc, 15% eth, and keep only 35% for the altcoins. I agree that keeping a bigger chunk of btc is safer.

I'll have a better look into my list and reassess my selection. I'll probably remove DENT for starters. Looks that new coins are being dumped on the market constantly. Also I'll look more into top 30 coins and check them out. There are a lot of good coins out there but I wouldn't want to have too many in my portfolio.

Thanks again guys, I really appreciate your inputs, hopefully the next bull will be kind to us Cheesy

I think the smart move was already buying Bitcoin up in bulk. There can never be a wrong step in accumulating Bitcoin, but I would still put my money in established alts with much more growth left like Monero and Litecoin. I can never really be convinced to put more than 1% into any of the coins you mentioned, simply because there isn't any utility for any of them. Like it or not, there's just a few coins we can actually use.

Thanks!

Good idea buying some altcoins for diversification.

I'm good with Kucoin shares & Zilliqa.
Privacy focused coins like ZCash might have a hard time in the future - that's why i try to avoid them.
I wouldn't invest in Elastos, Webdollar or Dent - they only have been hyped during the 2017 bullrun.

Good performing alts of 2019 are Litecoin, BinanceCoin & BasicAttentionToken. Digibyte is a "sleeping giant".

There is no need to look out for a coin beyond the top 100 by marketcap.
The upwards potential stays basically the same.

I wouldnt take it for guaranteed that alts will follow BTC in a bull run, especially your mentioned low cap coins like dent. You could see that BTCs price moved up in the last two month, but none of the major alts really followed this movement, except ETH.
Bitcoin has gained new growth in May but altcoin has yet to show a big recovery in this market. I think we will have to wait more because altcoin is not a target for investment this year. If you want to invest to earn good profits, wait until 2025 because it's a time when a lot of big news will appear and during that time you should prepare more new knowledge as it will Help you very well when the market enters the recovery phase

I do not think that now is the right time to transfer funds from leading coins to altcoins. The conversion of money from alts to bitcoin is still taking place. Many of my altcoins are getting cheaper vs bitcoin and ethereum. This may continue for many more months.
According to the charts: https://coinmarketcap.com/charts/ it can be seen that the rise in BTC domination is likely to continue.
So, not yet time.

this is a very good speculation, bro, by buying bitcoin and other altcoins, you will get a big profit, now the market has begun to stabilize you really have confidence
