Calling all Merchants!

Let's celebrate Bitcoin Pizza Day like a Black Friday. On that particular day, offer a big discount to everyone who pays with bitcoin or any of open cryptos. Lets spread the word and make noise. It is just one day every year on May 22. Acceptance needs more promotion from the community and merchants.

Last year I tried with my small business, and it works. This year I will do more with all my websites and embroidery services. My 2019 offer was posted here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5140807.msg50958097#msg50958097

Give your suggestion. Share your ideas about celebrating that day. Make it stronger and more recognizable than Black Friday.

p.s.
Post your Bitcoin Pizza Day offer below, I will choose best offers and send you a free physical bitcoin/ethereum/litecoin/lightning logo embroidered patch. Let's get started!

Go Lightning!

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Btw really nice idea, I like it very much. Did anyone have that idea before? I haven't heard.
Also it's a good idea if each store will do a surprise to one random man ans give everything in very big discount. Or as a symbol, if some buyers will get pizza with bitcoin's logo on it.

It would be great if someone can propose an event to a big pizza company (ex. Pizza Hut) to start a promotion for that day/week celebrating "Pizza Day".
They can make a Bitcoin-themed pizza as a treat for the enthusiasts or even just the promo "Pizza Day Sale" with a short description of its history.

It's a great deal, this will bring them (and crypto-topic) to the front page and all over the net with little to no advertising budget.
That "someone" is hard to find though, just sharing my thoughts.

The thing is most normal merchants do not care about Lazlo and what happened back then, some do not even know about it. This is a significant event for people who know about Bitcoin and it is also a bit of an embarrassment and bad publicity if you buy something with bitcoins now and the amount that you would have received for that amount of bitcoins skyrocket in the future.

People would be very hesitant to use their coins if they know what happened with Lazlo and that is the exact opposite of what merchants want to promote.  Roll Eyes

Also I don't know what happened in the past on the Black friday day Smiley Most merchants don't know that.

There was spend so much bitcoin in that pizza, I think deal with that story behind it may cause tradition huge rise in one particular day instead of sales lol.

You might be right Sad So... lets choose other day for such happening. First block mining day? Or maybe halving day - do promotions and discounts every 4 years.

Bitcoin are doing very well on Black Friday, but using coins for Black Friday specials might increase the coins in supply and thus decrease the price of the token, if the demand does not increase. You merchants love it when people spend their coins, but we hoarders hate to spend coins, without good reason. <My strategy is to spend 20% of all the coins I buy, and hoard 80%>

Well, another big day would be the day when Satoshi first introduced Bitcoin to the world.  Wink < 3rd of January when the genesis block was mined>
