This would just move more casinos to offshore and towards cryptocurrency. Already many of the British casinos have moved themselves to offshore British overseas territory or countries with more considerate  laws like malta and panama.

It would be a huge help for the parent of those young gamblers.
But for us it would be hard to do it since as we have seen even the one of the greatest and most trusted trading has been hacked.

Lol. Most kids don't even know what crypto actually is and they would probably stick to FIAT since crypto can be complicated for many of them. Taking their parents credit card and signing up on a FIAT based casino is way easier for them. This new KYC rule is a positive step forward in my opinion.

It's a difficult question. I think it's important to be strict about children not having access to gambling, but at the same time to leave more freedom to adults... I don't really know how to make sure that both requirements are satisfied. In case of physical presence it's possible not to ask for an ID if a person is clearly looking like an adult.. Perhaps something similar could be implemented online.
I don't think it's fair to ask people for ID when there is no suspicion of violations.

Your post has a lot of wisdom and therefore makes good sense. I think in this aspect, age restriction for KYC isn't bad at all because it will deter underaged from involving in gambling at a very early stage. If we could have all gambling site placing such restriction , it will be nice. I do know that most gambling site in my area (not online), do not allow underage to bet.

You are right we have always preach anonymousness in the online gambling and casinos but with the high right of children involvement in gambling and are getting negatively affected by this addiction its time to implemente the full kyc process for members and users of online casinos that can be hard to achieve but will go a long way to reduce underage gambling.

Obviously, this strict verification will deter young players to totally skip online casino's if they are in a country wherein they are covered by the law unless they buy some identification from the dark web to continue their addiction.

Most likely be the case to happen thats why we are seeing some of them goes offshore due to this regulation.I can say that stricter laws about KYC do really have that benefit or reason for avoiding young minds to get
involved on gambling on early age but we know that this thing is the main concern on most people where verifying themselves is the most hated part.So,its no surprise that they would switch into places that doesnt

KYC verification doesn't solve the problem,if you ask me.The minors could still register on some offshore licensed cryptocurrency casino or just signup with some other person't ID.
The children with compulsive gambling issues have to meet psychoterapists and get some kind of threatment.
I don't understand how can a teenager become gambling addict?The kids at that age aren't interested in making money.They are more into other malicious addictions(porn,drugs,etc.).

That is an SOP even if it means that all are anonymous with blockchain tech working for a transaction for verification purposes, it does not mean that a platform will not do KYC. It is no good to operate a business knowing that the platform could destroy the young ones in gambling addiction especially if their parents are not always around checking their kids.

The problem is that an online user can't be suspicious, the operators can't see him. The operators only see a nickname and an email address. The only thing they can do is request verification which can still be cheated but most people will not go through the trouble of submitting someone else's personal details to be able to gamble.

So true. KYC procedure is not a solution to solve suspicious users ability to gamble. Person can simply switch to another casino.
KYC wont help at all. I can easily send my ID and even make a video call for confirmation. That wont make any verification of the origin of my funds...

This is nothing new in the Fiat zone and I think it is a good practice for people playing with Fiat to stop abuse.While the same can be said about crypto gaming I think that crypto by nature is to offer some kind of privacy to the players.

15 years old kids are actually good at understanding what BTC and cryptocurrencies are. i once waited in store that accepts BTC, i fall in line to pay the stuff i got and two kids came to ask me if I'm going to pay BTC to the store because if i do, they'd offer to pay cash to the stuff I'm buying and want my BTC sent to them. I'm not gonna be surprise if kids are going to use it to gamble in BTC casinos,
