And here we have result. Bangladesh won. The South African team should be disappointed. Very few people were siding Bangladesh and eventually they won.

Congratulations to the Bangladeshi team. It was not all luck or granted, they had worked hard for years and they have been consistent on their performance for quite a time now. It wouldn't be exaggerated to say they are now the second based cricket team from Asia after India.

This was an unpredictable win for Bangladesh. Only two out of sixteen pool members got it right. Have a look

By the way, for todays match my initial pick is England - comfortable but if England bat first then I may change it to easy win because I believe in that case England has very much possibility to win this match by 50 - 99 runs margin.

So, after seeing the toss result I may change my decision.

I never tested how close you can go before the first ball to be bowled for the match but yes they lock it once the game starts and in Cricket the toss event happens I guess half an hour before the match to start. So yes, you can pick/change your team/prediction after the toss. This is why I do not lock my pick LOL

And thanks for the shout out for the cap. I hope I get into a campaign where they don't need me to change my avatar :-P

Bangladesh is known to upset the game by beating some of the best teams and exactly they did the same thing ystd by beating the SA. Bangladesh kept on picking up the wickets at regular intervals and this made the chase difficult for SA and to win the match.

Looking at the last match and the performance in the Tri-Nation Series at Dubline, also some of the performance before they came to UK, I do not think they are anymore a team who cause upset. They are a very consistence team. Most of their players has huge experience compared to other team members in this world cup. So, I am waiting to see more wins for Bangladesh. May be Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, WI are the team who will be targeted by Bangladesh.

My GOD! If they win these matches then they will easily go to the next round :-P

I am expecting England to win comfortably in this case thanks to their recent wins. Pakistan might try to fight back which is why thrashing does not seem likely in my opinion. The likelihood of Pakistan winning is less than BAN at this stage.

It was a really huge win for Bangladesh and right from the beginning nothing was going on South Africa's way as they were dropped catches and many miss fielding and with the spin attack Bangladesh has it will be a hard task for a team like South Africa who succumb to pressure and spin bowling, this is the worst performance in terms of fielding by a South African team and well played Bangladesh and it is a better win than their world cup win over South Africa in 2007 as they dominated in every aspect of the game.

India plays spin really well throughout history and world class spinners like Warne or Murali never had an upper hand when they played against India most of the time and Bangladesh has 3 spinners in their line up and you cannot compare that with their performance against India.

Anyway, yes I did see the helpless Bangladesh against India but in past they had very close matches with India and I think they won some as well. So I would not judge based on one match (the match against India). Bangladesh really has good potential.

Pakistan is heading toward a big total now. Still, almost 15 overs left and if they can speed up their run rate, then 320-350 looks very much achievable in this pitch. Unless another collapse in the corner is waiting for them. Hope that's not the case this time.

Chasing 348 will not be easier however it's possible for the team like England. My pick was comfortable win for England but seems like even if they win then this might be a close match.

Hey Royse! Was a bit busy with other stuff and the IPL makes me post more often than the World Cup too since I honestly enjoy it a lot more.

It is true that Bangladesh have improved a lot as I stated and have great potential, but they are not a consistent team when it comes to winning. This might change in the future though due to continuous improvement on their part.
