I've read so many comments over the past few months, people saying that once we go past the 6k mark, it would be a solid confirmation of a bull market...Now it's 7k?    I don't think you need an exact price to finally say "we're in a bull run", what we need is constant upward movement in the market. If prices keep going up for several weeks or months (like now), then it's safe to say that we're already in a bull market.

breaking the 2018 resistance is a great sign. ideally though, to confirm the bull market, i want to see the $6k zone hold as support once price corrects. we'll probably hit a brick wall somewhere between $7k-$8k and correct downwards.

if bulls absorb all selling pressure in the $6000s and then push back upwards, that will confirm there's no more supply at these levels. we'll also form a higher low on the weekly and monthly charts---another confirmation of a bull market.

This one. If we can go above $7k today and sustain it and then we have a slow approach to $8k then possible that we are out of the bearish cycle and entering the bull run. But I'm expecting some pull back in the next coming days and the make another push to $7k and then $8k.

It's funny though. I remember on the way down to $3000 people said that we would go back up soon, while right now on the way up people try to talk the current rally down as if it's not a good development at all.  

Same with a lot of youtubers. Price down they show all kinds of scenarios why they think the price will go up again, and now they shifted to being bearish and show why they believe the price will go down again.

People really need to calm down and just enjoy whatever it is that the market subjects them to. It was awesome seeing the price tank for me, and now it's awesome seeing the price go up.

The fact that the market rallied in the face of these bearish triggers is an indication of strongly bullish sentiment. The spread between Bitfinex and the rest of the market has already disappeared and Binance will be reopening withdrawals in a few days.

Until Bitfinex actually gets their domain taken down by the FBI, I don't think they're going to be stopping a bull market.

The point was more about using market reactions to news as a gauge for sentiment. In bear markets, bad news triggers selloffs. That obviously didn't happen here so it begs the question, are we in a bear market anymore? Probably not.

As for your concerns, we know Bitfinex users aren't desperate to leave anymore. It's obvious because the premium to get out is now negative. That source of buying pressure is gone. As for Binance, this wasn't a huge hack for their size and users won't lose anything. I don't think their recovery is highly doubted. They're not like Cryptopia or something. Poloniex and Bittrex fading from popularity in mid 2017 didn't stop the bull at the time.

I feel like we've seen this story play out too many times to overly worry. My perpetual mistake in crypto is assuming people will approach fundamentals rationally. In bull markets, fundamentals never matter.

No experts TA here, but the last bottom we have was like $3100-$3200, so at the current price we have doubled it already. So maybe that's a strong indication that we are in a bull run. Plus we are not affected by the Bitfinex and Tether drama, and just a couple of days ago Bitfinex was hacked and then Rep. Sherman bad mouthing bitcoin and proposing a bill to ban all crypto. So despite those negative news, the market is gaining momentum and have no impact whatsoever.

This is also the thing I do observed that Bitcoins price or generally the market becomes good when its weekends and suddenly goes back to lower points on weekdays.
I don't know if theres some pattern but this is happening frequently but one things for sure that theres no such thing on confirming if this is already the bull run.
Either this would be some trap or totally the reverse of the trend that's why decision making would be crucial when making some orders/entries.

I totally agree with you, any technical analyst can assure you that prediction, but remember that the market usually moves according to the scenarios, that is, if we see that the bitcoin market makes a providential increase, people start to enter because they want to lose the movement, and the price is increasing and with a lot of volume, what can not be ruled out is that they are bullish traps, in Wyckoff's book Valdecantos, he explains this scenario, but what is the problem of the TA? that's just that, because they are based on indicators and a series of tools with a lot of calculation, approximations and statistics, but those indicators are not going to tell you what phase of the market is, which was what happened, if it was the movement of a Whale or institutional money, if the volume is fictitious or if they only made the move because they wanted to try the offer at those levels.

I completely disagree. Binance has nothing to do with this rally. Everyone is just looking for reasons to explain away their disbelief about this rise in price. It's classic bull market behavior.

Checking the price today, I see some dumps, meaning that the support around the $7400 is broken. So the next support line is $7200 so let's see how it goes or there could be some pullback along the way.

Yeah, this looks the real bull trend as we haven't really seen it increase by $2k in just a month and it's just been an upper trend followed in May 19. Last it touched $8k in July 2018. It's following a similar graph as 2017 when prices rose from $2k to $4k in just few months and it was around the same month when it happened May 2017. I can't see the reason why it's happening so I can assume another Pump.

That's the thing. There was no concrete action here, just FUD. So like 2017 when Bitfinex and Tether lost banking capabilities, it was actually a trigger for the market to pump since Bitfinex USD and USDT holders were panic buying crypto to get out.

When the hammer really comes down, i.e. the FBI and DOJ seize Bitfinex's domain and unseals criminal indictments against the owners, it'll trigger a market crash I'm sure. It won't trigger a new bear market, but it'll provide a nice crash......maybe similar to the crash following the Bitfinex hack in 2016.

The bear market was so long that many simply could not verify that the cryptocurrency market had changed and became bullish. However, it did happen. Yesterday, Bitcoin fell slightly to the price of 7154 dollars, but today has grown, according to CoinMarketCap, to 7822 dollars. This is clearly a bull market.

I don't really regard 2017 as the good old days. They lasted for an extremely short period of time then they made you pay with months and years of boredom and nothing. And the price has exceeded $8k today, of course prices will continue to rise because the uptrend is still happening. occasionally the price might go down, but that is not a problem, take advantage of that opportunity to buy, because the price will definitely go upagain  and the next target is $10k. maybe it will happen at the end of May.  if the uptrend continues to occur in the long term, bullrun is confirmed

Reaching $7000 didn't really confirm the bull run, reaching $8300 did however and the bullish settlement we are getting everywhere.

I think as long as $6000 holds, which will make it the right shoulder of the 2018 yearly support, then it should confirm we are still in a bull market.

From the time of $5000 spike was when I totally knew that the bulls were present, they only tested the market that first of April to really be sure how people will also respond, I am glad I followed my instinct to invest then, which I stopped following those that were predicting price dumping back to $3500 when it was at $4800.

It looks like we will temporarily stuck around $7300 for now as the price is not not moving in the last 24 hours. So this could be the lowest low we will see before we finally had some breakout run again and hopefully push the price above $8k-$10k at least.

Right, we are indeed in this sort of mini bull-run, but the real bull runs is to be expected next year prior or after the block halving, imho.

We can't confirm that we're on the bull run period Bitcoin is just still on the process of recovering. It has to go higher before we could confirm that the bull run is really here. However, I belueve that good days are really comming for us since Bitcoin has even reached $8k which is surprising.

The price of the bitcoin is now above $8000 but I notice that the uptrend this year is slower compared to the bullrun in 2017. The present price might slide into correction before reaching another level, the $9000. Cryptocurrencies are unpredictable so nobody know exactly if these present price rally will lead to another all-time high. Bullrun is still possible but not because it reached $7000, it because of some positive developments that may help boost the price of the bitcoin further.

The bull run was confirmed when bitcoin crossed $4250 because that complete the $3190 and $4150 channels and many of us has said here that the bullish trend has commenced though we were reprove by those that did not know how this market works and what do trigger the reversal direction. Currently billions is above $8700 and this a little point of rest and very soon maybe before end of this week the next strong push towards $10,000 will begin.
