Briefing my self( haven't been here for a long time)

Hi, I'm just gathering new information as to what's new with the forum and bitcoin's progress.
I know I can search all these things on my own. but having information given by an individual's own insight about
the topic gives me more Idea and information regarding the topic(and of course I will look into it as well) .

PS. if you look at my past post you will see that the last time I posted something was 2018 I wanted to comeback(but too busy) and just learned about
the new update and the merit system. anyway TIA for anyone who will share their own information. for the mod if my post topic is in the wrong thread I'm sorry.

Well if you are just coming back from a long break the first place to visit is the meta section to see if the rules have change and also getting your self at home with new development such as the merit system you mentioned, but in the entire community nothing have really changed except for the introduction of the merit system and also the recent ruse of the bitcoin market which due to it volatile market nature is on the decline as at this moment.

Well alot has gone down in the forum that has shaped the forum and has really created mixed reactions but the most recent is the issue of ban, there has been a high number of banned account and ban appeal this post would be helpful https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5141807.msg50995158#msg50995158
Most of the banned account was majorly due to plagiarism or Spamming. Also as a result of the ban the forum has seen alot of thread channeled in that line, from ban appeal to ban suggestions or correction.

Pinned thread in meta should be able to help you. But if you want some lazy help, then probably here's the recent update (not sure which one come first and if it really happened in 2018 after you go offline):
- Merit system introduced.
- DT selection system changed.
- Account recovery system improved.
- IP log system improved/changed.
- No more animated avatar (old animated avatars which used APNG files might still be shown because the user didn't update his avatar yet).
- More drama in reputation.
- Yobit sig ban. (not sure if this is forum related but this keeps popping out of my mind so I'll just write it)
- Global plagiarism ban recently (in May), more than 700 accounts got banned due to plagiarism.
