If you're intention is just to make money out of the original source code and fork with your own idea, you better look for something else to work with very well. Cloning / forking isn't a place to make money if you don't have any intention of upgrading or contributing to make the code better. This is the wrong perception of most people now, you all think forking will make you rich.

Because the source code is free and open to everyone so it literally means that you won't steal it. And you want to create an original bitcoin? we have already one and that's what you are trying to fork so don't call your idea as an original one if you're just copying the code and you don't have anything to add valuable with it. Forget about cloning bitcoin,it would be better if you think for a project that will make  a huge impact in the world of crypto, make a team consist of experienced and skilled , advisors and especially you need funds.

You can fork it, simply copy and paste the code but you have no chance your coin to people. Hardforked coin will always be different than the original one (like the blockchain, supply, etc), that's why no one do that.

You can create as many clones of btc as you want.  Maybe you will be a success like ltc but you need to build a community from the ground and spend a lot on marketing.  It is not as easy at it used to be because of all the new coins trying to compete with bitcoin.

You are not stealing money, and you only created new coins from the code of bitcoin. But you need to know that the coins will have a price or not in the market after you publish the coin in the market. I see that some of a new coin that is released on the exchanges cannot stay for a long time or when it's release to the public, the coin cannot compete with the other coins because that coin doesn't have a sign to increase higher.

The issue here isnt about stealing money.If you are really serious with this goal then better asked em out to those person i do mention above.

The difference is those guys are already multi millionaires if not billionaires.  The have the money to spend on advertising to make their coins successful.  Without a large marketing budget you aren't likely to get anywhere.

Almost all coins are based on the official Bitcoin code with minor modifications for the better. They still have not been able to get close to the price of the first cryptocurrency. I would recommend to make the project and develop it, and if it turns out to be really interesting, its price will only increase.
