Is there an option on bitcointalk where I can get a PM or email notification every time a chosen user creates a new thread. I want to follow a few users and be informed whenever they create a new thread without manually checking every profile.

Can that be done?

Their is no option about it. But in every thread or section you can find notify options and once you enable that option then you can get email notifications for every reply on that thread . But their is no option for specific member notifications. Their are other thread talking about it which link is here... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3017552.0

As @Bitlover10 indicated, there is no option to do that. All you can do is bookmark their user profiles and review the “Show the last topics started by this person” every now and then.

It’s not a bad idea to suggest as an enhancement to @Piggy’s notification bot (see [RELEASED] @mention notification bot - now with Telegram), which currently can alert you if you are mentioned in a post.

If you are looking:
  • For recent posts in the forum: check the bottom of the homepage.
  • For recent posts of one or many users: No way, you have to do it manually.

However, you may enable an additional tool made by user Piggy which a notification bot that help you receive a notification by pm/telegram when someone quotes your username/posts: [RELEASED] @mention notification bot - now with Telegram

I was hoping there would be a solution but thank you guys for trying to help.

coupable I have that bot enabled for a long time already. But that wont really help me any further. I dont need a notification when someone mentions me I was looking to get notifications when a user I follow starts a new thread. Unfortunately seems that is not possible.

Why you don't just ask there if he can make an option just like you said that you want to get notified if someone that you follow made a thread?

Yes I will do that. I decided to leave this thread open for another day just to see if some member might think of a way to achieve what I am looking for but since there are no new replies I will close it and contact Piggy.
