Recently I am thinking of privacy. I understand that I need to use tor browser + VPN. I downloaded the tor browser for free but I am not sure about the VPNs.

In some articles that I read , they say that free VPN actually save your logs to sell it and not reliable at all. Good VPN connections are not cheap at all. Actually I do not require VPN as such but I like to use it. I am looking for free or very cheap VPN. My location is in India.

I am using VPN very often. If you using android phone then I will recommend you proxy VPN. It's already downloaded in my mobile and works very well. It's free to use but you can face some advertisements on your screen but once your VPN is connected then advertisements is not bothered you. They give you two options for using it first option is free and second option is VIP where you need to pay somthing. Here is the link of that app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.freevpn.unblock.proxy hope its help you.

There seem to be a lot of 3 dollar for 2 year nordvpn accounts in the marketplace subforum / digital goods
don't use free vpn's and don't use tor for normal browsing either.
With free VPN's most of the times your data is the payment (every site you've visited etc.) so you should think twice about using those services.
Tor isn't recommendable for daily use because of the constant blocking of ip's you won't even be able to use google and other sites and some sites will even ban your accounts if you login through tor
So my suggestion is buying a VPN Account in the marketplace subforum from a well reputated seller, i guess.

Keep an eye out on Nord VPN.  They often have special pricing where you get a three year subscription for the price of one or something like that. If you can find a lifetime subscription to them even better. They are a little more expensive than some of the other ones, but I think that they do a good job of protecting your data and because they are getting paid they just put out a better product in general.  I can use their VPN service on any OS and any device.

Either you use a browser add-on (zenmate,etc...), which isn't really good to use for some things, either you buy a cheap one.
You can make a cheap private VPN for $2 per month or buy during the special discounts days.

Please never use Hola !!!
https://thebestvpn.com/reviews/hola-vpn/
a few examples that are not pretty
-they’re logging everything about your internet activity + all of your personal information

-Proxy Tunneling, Security Risks, No Encryption

https://www.theverge.com/2015/5/29/8685251/hola-vpn-botnet-selling-users-bandwidth
-it used to sell YOUR bandwith to a botnet so basically if somebody did something illegal with your bandwith you would've been liable for that crime, it claims that it doesn't do that anymore but would you really trust somebody that did such a big misstep?

Please if you must use something free , at least don't use hola which is proven to be extremely shady

Unlike most member, i'd rather suggest you use Tor, especially if you don't want spend of money on VPN. Free VPN obviously sell user's personal information/data, otherwise how can they offer their VPN for free.

Tor isn't recommendable for daily use because of the constant blocking of ip's you won't even be able to use google and other sites and some sites will even ban your accounts if you login through tor

That also apply to VPN/Proxy, CloudFlare (and similar services) also blocks IP from VPN & proxy these days.
I don't have any problems surfing the web with my VPN, other than even worse and shittier google recaptcha's that are at times almost impossible to solve
the ip ranges from most vpn providers get refreshed every once in a while so it's clean, and the bigger VPN providers also offer a lot of locations like 2000+ so that shouldn't be an issue for the average user.

I would rather use no VPN before I uses a free VPN. Free VPNs will almost certainly be logging, storing and selling your data to make a profit. If you are not paying for, you are the product, as the old saying goes.

There are plenty of VPN's out there that won't break the bank; 40 or 50 bucks for a year, which works out as less than a dollar a week. I would recommend the following two sites to start your research in to which VPN is best for you: https://www.privacytools.io/providers/vpn/ and https://thatoneprivacysite.net/.

On the latter site, if you click on "Detailed VPN Comparison", you can then sort by price so you can filter out the more expensive ones and only compare the logging, security, location, etc., of the ones within your price range.

It's not adviced to use Hola, you can read why here:
https://vpn-services.bestreviews.net/three-years-after-the-controversy-what-is-the-current-state-of-hola/
It works as a botnet and they are even selling data of users. Your IP can be even used for some shady and illegal things. Offcourse, if you don't care about your privacy you can use it. Hola is a free service, but offcourse it costs to run it. If there are no fee, they earn money from their users in other ways...
If you really need VPN, you need to buy subscription of one of paid services like NordVPN, it's not expensive at all.

Here in our local vpn is cheap and it doea onlt required minimum payment monthly to start enjoying the service. I have tried it before unfortunately i stop using the service because of technical problem that arises from time to time like updates and need to re install again. It is a trouble some when I badly need an internet connection but it will just pop up that application needs an update. So you will start again downloading updated files and spend some regular load foe the data needed for the download.

A free VPN isn't easy to get, you can get free proxys, if you use TOR what you get is a free proxy not a free VPN. So, for what you need it? If you want it for a simple task like look a video, then use a proxy, but if you want it to loggin in some services, then you should pay for some VPN who protect your privacy.

So for free vpn, tor browser is the best choice?
Although they have many of the same goals in mind - increased privacy, anonymity, encryption of web traffic, etc. - VPNs and Tor are not the same thing. They have some subtle and some quite important differences, and achieve their goals through quite different methods. This article is a good place to start to learn the differences: https://thebestvpn.com/tor-vs-vpn/

No one can answer what the "best choice" is for you, because it depends on a lot of factors such as your geographic location, what your online activities are, what you are looking to achieve by using one or the other, things like that. However, if you have no budget, then using Tor (which is free) is far superior to using nothing or using a free VPN. (Using a free VPN may actually be inferior to using nothing, as they are almost certainly collecting and selling your data to make a profit).

For 2 year? Wow, where can I avail that? For what I know Nordvpn offers 3 dollars per month? I tried Nordvpn and it is good for what I've experienced.

You are correct that that is their best deal at the moment. I suspect most of the VPN accounts being sold have been hacked, phished, or otherwise stolen. NordVPN allows 6 devices to be used at once on each account, so it is quite possible that someone who is only using it on two or three devices at once (computer, phone, tablet, for example) could have their username and password stolen, and have someone else logged in to a couple of more devices on their account without ever realising it.

I use a VPN all the time, and I can't recall the last time CF has blocked me, or even a specific time they ever blocked me. The only thing using a VPN has ever resulted in me getting blocked from is Netflix.

If you are concerned about logs, and you are in a country with weak free speech protections, you can rent a VPS located in a country with strong free speech protections, and setup a private VPN server with OpenVPN. This will not guarantee absolute anonymity, and you will probably be uncovered if you are doing something harmful to other people.

From where I sit...good start is to install the latest release of openvpn client which, moreover, is free, and to find out UDP/TCP access packages pertaining to openvpn servers scattered all around the world, just google and you are on top.

You can get tons of VPN for free on any platforms like android and Windows, just go to the market apps and type free VPN software then you will get some apps with premium services by paying for it.I am using HOXX and HOLA on my browsers and turbo VPN on my android so you also can check those free softwares.
