About to throw down $20K and need some advice

Hello everyone, I'm brand new to this board but have been buying bitcoin (exclusively) off and on for 5 years. I'm ready to invest another $20K and was wondering what your thoughts were on my investment. As of now, I'm leaning towards the following

$5k Etherium
$2k XRP

Welcome to the forum! Of course, all of the decisions about the investments you should make on your own, since nobody else will be responsible for your losses in case things go South. About the losses, you intend to invest $20k. For me it would be the hell lot of money, more than I ever had. If for you it's something you can lose without getting absolutely frustrated, left without means of existence etc., then fine. The market is risky, there are no guarantees, so don't invest what you can't afford to lose.
As for the distribution, I would also reconsider Ripple, since it's a centralised coin, so the price might be regulated. I would also rethink Stellar. But otherwise it seems like a good idea. Good luck!

You got a lot of capital but you have to think well if you'll invest all of that money in crypto. It's still the best time to buy and hold since the market is on its recovery process. If I will be in your shoes, I would choose Bitcoin and Ethereum because I have seen how it struck high last bull run and we're never far from that possibility. Its your money and you have to take decision. But if I were you then I would not buy bitcoin right now. Wondering why peoples just want to buy bitcoin during bull run. Who know it will not dump? However, if I have enough money right now then I would like to buy few potential alt coin with all my fund. Because all alts are 2X/3X dumped from last month. So If I invest on alt coins then after few months my btc would 2x/3x (IMO). Alt will start recover when btc will stable. Please take your own decision, we are not your legal adviser here. We just share our opinions. Actually my intention is increase my btc instead of think about fiat.

Start with putting $1000 every week on whatever coin (I would do %100 btc btw) you like. (that's called dollar cost averaging)

If this pump keeps going, DCA would make you less money (than going all-in) but did you consider what if it goes down? Then, you'll be making less by going all in. (in other means, you'll be missing the chance to buy cheaper)

If you put $1000/week ($4k/month) you can DCA for 5 months. Personally I would go with $500/week but ofc its your choice. If I sound dumb to you completely ignore me. I don't have any idea what I am doing too.

Be careful if you want to invest $20k.
You need to search for the information related to your investment, and I hope you can make the right investment.
I think you have a good list for the investment you can directly buy every coin in your list.
But like I said before, you need to be careful because you use too big money for the investment and you still don't know what will happen in the future.
My advice is don't use all of $20k in one-time but spread it into many level price so you will get much lower price in your buy order.

How about privacy coins like XMR (Monero)? And if you are willing to take a little bit more risks I can imagine BNB (Binance) is also a good decision.
Personally, would decrease the amount of XRP and XLM and go for XMR and BNB instead. Especially Ripple XRP is only a huge marketing gag. I'm also not very convinced to put money in LTC, it'll be outperformed by Bitcoin in my opinion.

But I think it's already a good decision to set BTC as your biggest bag, 50% BTC is a good number.

However, final decision is up to you.

If I were you, I would divide 25% of your active share somewhere into 5 coins or even more. This is a kind of diversification because it is difficult to predict which of the coins can grow more than others. Many unknown factors that in the future will be able to influence the development of the coin both positively and negatively. All you investment bifurcation seem good, I see all these coins as potential coins. I would like to go for investing my $20K like you if I had this much of amount into my wallet. I want to suggest you something on managing trades. Since you are investing a very good amount, I would recommend you to set a target for each pair so that you do not regret if it comes down after hitting the target. Planning at trade and executing it well will not let you regret at any point of time.

I think that it is not so smart to invest so much money in bitcoin due to the fact I don't see a huge potential for it to grow.
In my opinion, it is better to spread the bigger amount of money among altcoins such as Stellar, Ethereum and Litecoin.

i don't like basket investing like this. bitcoin and altcoins have a relationship like different sectors in the stock market. when BTC is trending strongly against the dollar, i want to be holding bitcoins. when altcoins are trending strongly against BTC, i want to be holding altcoins.

the main reason for this mindset is that altcoins can have brutally long drawdowns. bitcoin can be either bearish or bullish and altcoins can still stagnate or bleed for many, many months before finally pumping.

i would wait for stronger signs that the altcoin bear market is over and focus on a good entry point for BTC. there will always be more altcoin opportunities in the future.

Firstly, this an advice but you have the right to do what will favour you.
Secondly, you're to invest the amount which you can afford to loose.
Thirdly, investing into centralized coin like XRP,EOS,IOST etc is just like throwing your money into mug.
Lastly, Bitcoin is always the best crypto to invest in, investing 75% of your money will be fine nd I will advice you to replace XRP,stellar with XMR and FCT respectively.

Personally, I don't like XRP and XML, these two are like a turtle, moves very slowly.

However, you may want to check Docademic.
Currently, it is undervalued and probably next month is the mainnet launch and also all other news may come up.
Even a $100 investment can give a nice return in the long run IMO. I'm buying as much as I can now before it's too late.

People invest millions in this market and op must be aware of the risks which is why I don't agree with your statement that going all in is a bad thing. Instead, I advise op to go all in into BTC and forget about other cryptocurrencies and HODL for the long term. This is the best option in my opinion.

At the moment as the price of bitcoin has gone high I would go with $10000 on ethereum, $5000 in bitcoin, $2000 on Litecoin, $1500 into cardano and eos. Apart from this remaining $1500 will be spend on waves and other altcoins that were listed within 50 on coinmarketcap.
