Just wanted to know what the fellow members think about the worst bitcoin/crypto related online wallets. Personally, all of them suck since one shouldn't be using an online wallet at all but my recent experience with Blockchain.com's online wallet has been devastating. I wish I could show the results of this thread to one of the developers of the respective wallet. Vote for your preferences and if you want me to add another option then I'd do that as well.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

I voted for Xapo, I haven't used most on the poll but I have used both blockchain.com and Xapo. I haven't used xapo for years and the last time I used them was when they have turned the fees higher and I'm pretty sure that many stopped using them because of that update.
Can you share your experience with blockchain.com? and how bad it was? because for me, luckily so far I haven't experienced anything bad with them.

Yeah definitely! First off, the user interface in blockchain.com's wallet is pathetic. Since their last update, it has gotten worse. They barely give attention to user experience. Secondly, the fee structure for sending money is out of the picture. I think they don't know the basic math behind calculating the transaction fees. Integrating BCH/ETH into the same damn website makes everything looks so messey. They can't even do a proper BTC wallet and integrating other coins is such a disappointment. Overall, they're the trashiest thing happened to the bitcoin world.

I'm using Blockchain since 2016, I actually use this wallet for my sig. payments.

Their Fee system is crap! About 5 days ago when I got the payment I transferred to localbitcoins.

I really didn't look for the fees during the transaction. As usual, I sent the payment with the regular fee and it took 3 days to confirm the transaction.
They used 45sats/byte fee when the fee was needed over 60sats/byte... I think 60sats was the minimum fee required at that moment.

The site is somewhat laggy for me, and that's the thing I dislike, other than that everything seems alright.

I voted Freewallet.org.
When I was a newbie here I didn't know which better wallet to store my ERC20 token from bounty reward, upon searching I found out this wallet and I downloaded their apps into my phone and looking an ETH address I don't know if they are supporting ERC20 token.
To cut a long story short, when I was planning to withdraw my token I didn't find the name of token there but in etherscan.io I saw my token was there. The thing that makes me more disappointed they don't have a support team to assist costumer troubles and maybe until now. I saw there is one of their representative here and they have scammed accusation.

It can found it here, FREEWallet.org SCAM ( Don't use any of their iOS or Android APP)

They can't blame me in that case if I am one of their users that unsatisfied to their service.

I've voted Coinbase on the poll. Each user do have experience with Blockchain wallet but in my side i didnt experience any problems with it.Regarding coinbase my wallet been blocked and required KYC
when reaching up some amounts stored on my Coinbase wallet which do leaves me hanging or cant access my wallets. For now i do still make use of Blockchain for small transactions.

It is a very uncommon situation when the fees are too high. Their fee system really sucks, because I was paying very high fees there a few years ago. They used to overestimate fees. Now it's the opposite. Crap

Maybe everyone here starts using Blockchain.info wallet and move to SegWit wallets.
Blockchain.info's problem is not being updated (too many bugs.) I went through a bad 1-month error at the end of 2017, when the fees were so high and wallet buggy for long periods with a lot of error.

As a beginner, I do not see it too bad compared to Freewallet.org (central bank wallet) wallet.btc.com (BCH FUD) & Xapo.com.

I guess, I might use blockchain.com instead of those centralized wallet/exchange on the options. But if I have a choice to cross all of them, I will.

I didn't used blockchain.com anymore due to wallet incompatibility only to send using my mobile and don't want to use their website as well as it's too buggy but still using it for notification purpose when there are upcoming and outgoing funds on the wallet I imported as watch only address.

as much as i hate blockchain (especially as the UI has gotten worse and worse over the years), i can't in good conscience say it's worse than hosted/custodial services like xapo, coinbase, and freewallet.

at least blockchain.com and btc.com allow you to control your own private keys.

they should all be avoided though. nobody should be using browser-based wallets where you are vulnerable to malicious code injections/MITM attacks.

Yeah, but for doing small payments during your routine it doesn't hurt, you also ususally don't keep a lot. It's more convenient than taking your HW and connect and then execute a TX. With a web-based wallet, you just log in via a browser in seconds.

Xapo and blockchain, I remember creating accounts years back but nothing attracted me I found their UI horrible and look like the things haven't changed. That's where we can give a point to Coinbase for its UI, but Coinbase can also be one of the worst web wallets when there is a big spike and the website is overloaded and unreachable  Grin

i hear that.....i just hate to see new users getting sucked into bad security practices. i think more people than we'd like to think are storing most/all their funds on wallets like these.

with choices like electrum, or mycelium on mobile, it just seems like a no-brainer. why use a remotely executed app when we can run a wallet (including spv) from our own secure environment? it doesn't seem any more convenient to me to use a browser. admittedly i used to do that years ago (store funds on blockchain.info and use it as my main wallet) but from a UX/convenience standpoint i don't even understand why i chose that. i think i was just ignorant about better options.

It's funny how Coinbase ended up in this list of wallets, it's not even considered as wallet since you can't even export your address' private key.
They now didn't even call it as straight wallet in the support page, instead they call it "Wallet Services" like a respelled "Exchange-integrated Payment Processor".
I'm not against those kind of system though, it's convenient for small transactions.

Take full control of your tokens and collectibles by storing them on your own device.
~my ass.

Blockchain.com's wallet is one example of a real online wallet.

Haven't voted 'cause either I haven't used most of the options or some aren't really a wallet.

 Blockchain.com
Freewallet.org
wallet.btc.com
Coinbase.com
Xapo.com

All been crashed out i do consider the worst and since i cant choose up multiple on poll then better to write it out.
Some might hate blockchain.com wallet for buggy thing but for small transactions and having the possession of keys
will always be important.

Coinbase should be tagged as exchange although newbie use it as wallet.
From the above list, blockchain.com is the best one since we can get private key which means we can anytime use the wallet in other device too like importing in electrum.

There was a wallet I remember which had you pay for a membership monthly or annually and they wouldnt charge you for any transactions fees of what you send from their wallet. They have long removed this membership infrastructure because when miners fee skyrocketed to $20 to send some satoshis they couldnt afford to do it any longer.
Now after a while I have seen reports of their customer complaining they were having their funds disappear or not show up in their wallets after a send was performed to their wallet addresses. I never followed up with these accusations against them so dont know if they are true or not. But it could be why people arent particularly directing anybody to use them.
The name of this online wallet is cryptonator.com

They're all almost equally terrible in my eyes. There's just so many better alternatives out there for storing bitcoin that web or online wallets are probably the worst way you can store coins. I really hate Blockchain's wallet solely for the purpose that a lot of newbies tend to use their wallet as their first means of storing Bitcoin, and a large amount of people get their wallets compromised using Blockchain. Their UI's pretty decent though, and there's plenty of customizeability offered as well. I used to use Blockchain's mobile wallet for daily transactions, but I've since switched over to Electrum for Android.

Coinbase should be tagged as exchange although newbie use it as wallet.

True, but they also have a Coinbase wallet product that is a bit different. Coinbase wallet allows you to store the private keys on the device you're using, which means that Coinbase in no shape or form has any access to your funds. This wallet is free to download and use without a Coinbase.com account, which is a good thing.

I gave it a try once and it really looks like they paid more attention to how they market shitcoins and tokens than to actually offer people a solid user experience.

The list OP provided consists of the most shitty services already. Definitely wouldn't recommend people to use any of them.

I don't think blockchain.info is that shitty.
It's an important wallet for adoption, as it is easy to use and newbie friendly.

It is not the safer wallet, but if you are careful enough you won't be stolen. Most of complains about their wallet is user's fault (at least it is what I see in this forum)
