It all depends on which platform the community you are aiming to gain the most traction for.

But overall it is best to get people somehow vested in the project so that they have a stake in it as well.

Economic incentive is the best incentive in this area, so that's what you should count. Rewards helpful members with money/rewards (tokens etc). I don't mean this like your usual bounty hunting thing, just see what LTO or Elrond does for their community. I've been participating in both of their community programs and I can say that it's quite interesting that it feels as if the community are taking part on the marketing/development of the project. Kinda like participated in an open source development. However, you also need a solid product. Even though you have thousands of tokens but your product is worthless, then you'll only get your usual bounty hunters spammer.

If you're talking about the media, or the channel to build your crypto community, Telegram is definitely one of the best alongside with Discord. Average joe would probably use Telegram more, however, keep in mind that some FUDders or simply trollers who join a chat just to troll and keep bringing negativity in the room is pretty much existed in every project. Some members would only care about the price and keep bringing discussion to that point or trying to push the team to hype up the project. Simply put, you'll face a lot of users who only think about profits and not feeling connected with your project at all.

Don't forget to choose a good community admin, and make sure you have more than one. You should never let your chat get 'attacked' by spam or something similar if you want to keep your community happy.

Well, having a solid, interesting project is the most important factor here.
Do you have anything specific in mind? It's kinda hard to give advice without having a concrete example in that regard.

Obviously, you need to hire some good community managers, but even the best community managers can't magically turn a shitty project in something that people rave about...

@joniboini

Well, economic incentives aren't as important as just having a decent project.
If the project is interesting, people will automatically talk about it and create a vibrant community.

like what? not something like bitcoin, but project that was born in 2019, not doing any bounty/ico/ieo or whatever but having a really solid community. never found one, so it's interesting if there's any factual proof that supports this and not just wishful thinking.

Having social media accounts and boosting posts might work, and also using Airdrop/Bounty to build your community on Telegram are pretty much a must-do. Ensuring that your project creates an ecosystem that requires users to buy/use your token would be good as well, to ensure that your community sees a tangible product that incentivises them to continually use it?

Building and engaging with a solid and diversified community supporting a specific project is one of the many goals of project managers. With that community as the springboard, marketing and adoption can easily spread. There are many tools that one can use for this purpose. We have the social media where connections can be established -- sites like Facebook, Twitter, Telegram, Medium and the likes. The project can also set-up its own project-focused forum and incentives can be shared to promote membership and activities. It involves a lot of creatives and hours of hard work here but definitely the fruits can all be worth it.

No, it's not. I know some project that doesn't do any of those airdrop/bounty and they still have a huge community. Instead of paying fake users to join your channel, it is better to use that funds to promote/shill on various ICO/IEO/Crypto review channels. That's powerful marketing, way more powerful than requesting people to wear your tag and join / spam on various groups.

Building a loyal community is difficult . If your product is interesting, definitely without much effort you will be able to build the community. The only way to build the community is by running a bounty campaign and by doing the airdrop.

By the use of incentives through social media like telegram and discord or twitter and facebook, it forces members of the community to be interactive rather than dormant and inactive. If these incentives can be a good sources of gaining crypto then the community members will help build the project.

Bounty and airdrop are considered as a giveaway and most of the time only attracts free riders, unless you do a hackathon or something similar. I doubt any project that starts from bounty campaign and it didn't have a good product will last long.

I can bet that almost all of the hunters that join a bounty campaign is there only for the money, and didn't care much about community building or helping the project to expand its business.

It is the life of any project, without it, there will be no project to talk, and the best way to build a community is to be transparent on all your goals and what you want to do and continuous communication to the community, people lose interest when they see lack of updates and communication.

Community will automatically rise...
Sounds simple but this line do really got that point!

If the project do really have that innovative or simply do have that potential behind.Community would be the one who will follow and support
that project until it do create some buzz either if the project owner itself would tend to showcase it off on the initial phase or just simply
decide to keep it silent because if exposure isnt the intention on the early phase then it do get some recognition gradually then it signifies
on how good it is.Community building would gradually arise.

You must first set up your telegram channel and you must always answer all communications in a timely and respectful manner, the community wants to help a startup project with a team that can provide a legit and usable platform if you have a forum that would be better, transparency and communications are the keys.

I think thought like this can be a problem if you're using it to justify your lack of community engagement.

Product and community are both important, so whatever your priority is, don't let one or the other hamper your ability to work. A golden spoon is nothing if nobody knows about it. While if you sell shit, some might buy because their peers told them to do so. It sucks.

Build your product and engage with your community is the best way.
