[FREE] Free Coldkeys for testing / reviews

Hello everybody

I want to give out a few Coldkeys to different reputed and trusted users, for free.
That way, knowledgeable people can review the card and share their impressions with the rest of the community.

So far, I have made and intend to ship 3 "BITCOINTALK-TEST" Coldkeys.
These have our prototype design on them, are embossed, and come with a generic security hologram sticker.
Before shipping, I will emboss the username of the person the card is destined to. These are not intended for resale.

If you receive one of the vouch Coldkeys, please fully test it.
You can load it and redeem it, or peel it and just try the private key. Please post pictures of it afterwards !
I will be sending only one per person. (If you want to conduct different kind of tests, please indicate it, so I may ship more than one to you.)

I am looking for different people, with different sets of technical skills and knowledge (chemicals, blades, wear, abrasion ...)

To be honest, the best would be to have the widest palette of skills to make sure Coldkeys are resilient and suitable for cold storage.

All the cards that will be shipped, will be fully functional, including AuthKeys.
(The one in OP isn't yet added to the AuthKey tool)

I can run hypothesis testing and document results. Such as leaving it in salt water for 30 days, How long before the key melts off in a fire , things like that I would of course need a handful of them to conduct said testing but would get creative

You need to stop that if you value your back. Sitting on a wallet all day long is horrible for your spine. I'm a young man with the back of a 90 something year old. Trust me, you don't want what I got. Totally off subject just had to express this lol.

I knew this would be a little bit of a hitch to make only 3 cards for the tests.
So, finally, after an extensive chat with some of you, I'll be sending 7 Coldkeys for testing purposes.

Here is the list of chosen users :

Received the test card today!

I love the design and the holo pattern in the back!




I was able to load the card with 0.001btc very easily using my Mycelium QR scanner.

Once loaded I then proceeded to try and sweep the btc off the card.

To get to the Holo I noticed was not that easily done. There is a layer of thin plastic in the back covering the entire back.

Using a knife I had to cut that around the holo and then proceed to remove the holo itself before the private key was revealed as follows.

In other words, it is impossible to expose the private key without damaging the card!



Once the QR code was exposed I easily swept away all the btc in the card.

I have to say I am impressed with the design and security of these cards.

Job well done Yogg! Cannot wait to get my cards!
