Starting on Monday, May 27th, 2019, all gift card escrow fees will be changed to 2% except for iTunes and Google Play gift cards, which remain at 5%. These things are expected at a time like this wherever Bitcoin price rises. It isn't with only Paxful, I think it has to do with miners hiking their commissions. I use a greenbits wallet and currently I haven't been able to send out Bitcoin from my greenbits wallet since yesterday because of this exorbitant commission charged by the miners. I believe this transverses all other wallets too. Fees will revert whenever the backlogs are cleared up, I believe.

I expected that this changes would have happened a long time ago and not surprised a bit that it's happening now, paxful are looking for ways to earn money for themselves and I think they have been bearing some lost because some persons at a point showed me how it was possible to send coins via paxful to external wallet, I believe that they are trying to cover their lost this is why they are increasing fees, so I am not really surprised.

I only see that coinbazaar could be a new competitor for paxful and if coinbazaar can give more than paxful, I think the customer will move to coinbazaar.
But I never use both site coinbazaar and paxful, so I don't know much information, and I still prefer localbitcoin to buy and sell bitcoin directly.

You can just sign up and use it once , m pretty sure once you start using coinbaazar , you will see the difference yourself , as benefits are enormous. like low fees, and no fees on incoming transactions and more.

Aside from your blatant self-promotion,OP I think that Paxful should remove completely gift cards trading,because(as far as I remember) buying and selling gift cards on other websites was against Google,Amazon,iTunes terms of service and they could sue Paxful.

Its a personal choice to sell gift cards , how can someone stop , unless these companies stop selling gift cards. People buy and sell on their own wish , no one force people to do that. Why would someone would sue paxful , u mean to say i purchase gift card and sell it on paxful and then sue them . Please be wise.

This is no longer a new thing to me,  I always expect things like this to start happening anytime the price of bitcoin is moving up. You haven't seen anything yet,  just watch as the price moves up cause once the price starts to reach a higher price you will notice that even the fees for transactions will start to double up everyday as the price moves up. Everything just goes up as the price of bitcoin goes up, that's a normal thing that happens. The next thing is that you will see a lot of people complaining that fees is too high and that price is also high,  that they need a correction lol. This is just starting.
