Hey there, I'm new to trading cryptocurrencies. I'm curious what kind of strategies successful crypto traders employ? How did you learn to trade? Did you have a mentor or learn by yourself? Are there any books, videos, or other resources you recommend?

my only advice is you to learn practically by investing little amount then do that reading properly it will be the only way to get experience and after that you can make the profit continuously otherwise if you put huge amount very quickly it will definitely reduce their profit for you.

Lots of resources can be found already on the web. They are waiting for you. Start with basics then slowly climb your way up. It will take time so don't rush. All your questions will be answered once you start studying. Kind of spoonfeed if someone will teach you from a scratch so it's way better to start helping yourself first to learn even the basics then comeback here to ask questions that makes you confused.

Don't focus on strategies but rather set your own goals and do a step by step procedure to attain that goal. You could actually set your own strategies in time but focusing on different trading strategies might just complicate things and would just confuse you as a beginner. Have the eagerness to learn. Read and watch informative articles about trading in the internet. You could also read and ask questions in this forum. Good luck to you, Op!

Experience would be your best teacher so you will know the basics once you're practically doing it in actual but you have to start with a small amount to get rid of uncertain losses. Don't rely too much on mentors because you could learn it on your own. Trading is a long process of learning so you better keep adopting new knowledge and information about it. You must also search for a reputable and trusted exchange before trading.

There are tons of books (don't buy those ebooks they sell on this and different forums. Most of the can be obtained for free or are just shit), videos and other resources on the internet. You can easily find them just by making a quick google search. But, just reading those books and watching those videos won't make you an expert on trading. You will need to have some experience so be prepared to put in some money and lose your investment.

In what ever recommendations: experience, reading books, pay for training, it is important you understand that trading is all about risk! No one has complete and comprehensive knowledge on how to trade without losing and you should know that you are not going to be the best trader without loses.

Watch as much Youtube videos you can, that's free. Learn technical analysis, indicators, how to read charts, how to draw/understand support & resistance, trend line, etc. Just gain as much knowledge as you can. After sometime do some trades with a low amount and this will give you practical experience. Good luck!

There are so many strategies you can learn, but my suggestion is you don't need to learn all of the strategies in one-time, but you need to know one strategy first until you really understand how it works. You don't need a mentor to learn because you can do by yourself as long as you can find the right place to learn the lesson. My advice is you can watch some video from youtube or reading an article about the strategy so you can try to apply it into the trading exchange. Maybe it will need time before you can understand the basics of trading, but it is worth to do because if you can learn step by step of the lesson, you can be able to improve your skills in trading so you can move to the next lesson of the strategy.

As others have said, there's information about not just trading but almost every subject you could possibly think of online now, all accessible with just a search engine like Google. It's just up to you to access that information and use it to your advantage.
For the very beginning when you want to test out some things you've learned, trade in a place like the Bitmex Testnet site or another place where you can paper trade to make sure you actually somewhat know what you're doing. When you begin to feel more comfortable with trading, put in a little money you can afford to lose and try to work up from there. NEVER put a big amount of money/crypto into trading initially, because it's likely you'll blow that amount of money very quickly as a beginner.
TA also does not guarantee that a specific scenario or pattern will play out, especially in crypto trading. You should never fully rely on TA, but use it as something to guide your decisions on whether to go long or short or just to sit out for the time.

If you want to learn in trading you need to prepare your self into the risk you might face in here. Learning is not difficult if you are really wanting to have it. A lot of online tutorials which will guide you but of course you have to apply it in order for you to know exactly if its is effective or not. Can have take a look into this https://www.bitdegree.org/tutorials/cryptocurrency-trading/.

You could watch some tutorial or read some tips from other threads on this forum and apply it on trading, Use simulator first to practice and learn from your mistakes, Experiencing it would be the best lesson that you could have and don't ever follow a signal group .

How did you learn to trade?
I started out of curiosity, I always read here that if you want to increase the number of coins you are holding, try trading. I started using Poloniex. Its a hit and miss, meaning trial by error and its a costly. Did you have a mentor or learn by yourself?
I cant say that I learned by my self because all I did was read, apply what I learned and read again. I do follow some known traders and read their tips but personal mentor or hired a mentor, none. Are there any books, videos, or other resources you recommend?
Investopedia, I read that a lot. If theres something thatvI read and I am not familiar, I go to that page. I am not an expert trader but best practice is set a goal and stick to it. Make your goal achievable.

The first knowledge because it is the main capital in terms of trade, I am not a successful trader but failure is a good learning for me personally and basically playing patiently and not making decisions quickly, hopefully you become a successful person in crypto trading with the necessary knowledge honed and don't forget to see trends or news that is hype.

You may follow these some golden rules during your trading like only invest what you can afford to lose and do not put all of your eggs in one basket by investing in most trusted cryptos like BTC,ETH and ICOs in which their commodities are feasible to the masses as it will attract more people to invest.

When you can spend time to learn from many sources, then I don't think that you will need a mentor to teach you about trading crypto because you can find by yourself. You can find many good tutorials on here, but as usual, you need to search what you want and start learning that lesson. I learn by watching the price up to and down, and I made so many mistakes in my first-time trade, but I never stop because I know that is the risk that I should pay to have skills in trading.

Welcome! First, I don't have any mentor before when I started to trade crypto, I am learning all by myself such as youtube videos and some articles about trading. My advice to you, start on the basic, how to use the chart or how you to operate it. Second, some fundamental of trading, like identifying the supports and resistance. If you feel you are ready to trade, you can test your skills in some test net exchange or demo, just like Bitmex Testnet.

You can read plenty of resources in the net and if you are not good in reading then you can watch tutorials in the youtube. As you are new, it is better that you should learn first the basic in trading and after that you can then start a small amount of trade to test your knowledge.
Make sure that you are patient and always put in your mind the greediness will not bring you any profit as in the end, you will only lost your funds. I only learn from reading in the forum, researching about the basics of trading, always active, following the updated news and testing a little amount of money by trading.
