I think both are important.
In my opinion:
First, luck are needed for winning streaks, if you dont luck, you lost money for sure.
Second, Experience by your lost are also important, you will understand that win the house hold are impossible in long run, you will know when to stop whether you win or lose.

You have a good point, but then I would like to add that it actually depends on the game in question. Some games are basically based on luck, there is no amount of years of experience that can make anyone a better player in such games, like I know someone that has played Dice for over 2years now and has never won, if it was based on experience I am sure that he would have improved in playing by now

It depends on your definition of success. I have been gambling and I can categorically tell you that I am happy and I have succeeded in gambling. The idea is not to gamble foolishly, but there is no way, a gambler will not multiply their money, it’s not different from trading and other businesses and this does not stop us from learning other trades like you advised
