Avoid those coins that you are unfamiliar with. But if I have that amount to invest for masternodes, I'll choose that coin that has good volume in exchanges.

You can check out those website that list masternode coins and how to set them up, one of this website is masternode.online, here you can get list of all the masternode coin we have available, their various rewards, and how to set them up, though you have to still make a good research about the project you want to setup it's masternode because it is very possible that the price of the coin fall drastically and the coin becomes worthless, making all the coin you own worthless, unless a miracle that will make price increase again happens.
