Is there any way to hide a word in an Internet browser?

I'm going to meet a group of people and they always latch on to what I'm doing on the Internet when they've had something to drink and try to discuss it with me.

I'm on a hauwei phone running firefox, is there a way to completely replace every instance of "bitcoin" with "cryptography" or "the art of cryptographically signing something with a public and private key" in order for no one to know what I'm doing and for me to still know what stuff means?

Maybe just don't use your phone while those people are around?

I know with a desktop you could probably write a "greasemonkey/tampermonkey" script that would do something like that... and apparently they have a version for Android: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/android/addon/tampermonkey/

Sorry for going a bit off topic but you said that you are going to meet those people. How will such a software help you during a physical face-to-face meeting?
Do you have to give them your phone during the meeting or are they taking if from you to snoop around, I am confused?!
Seems like just PIN protecting or securing your phone with your fingerprint will do the trick unless they need to use your phone for some reason.

They'll look at my phone while I'm on it and I do make conversation but turning to your phone is when you're struggling to do it with people in person. They may look at your phone thinking they can make some conversation out of it or something idk...

Maybe the firefox (it's also on Chrome) add-on called "Advanced Profanity Filter" might work? It has option where you can pretty much filter or substitute any word you want on websites you visit...Haven't tried it, though, so watch out for giving it too much permission on your browser.

Great suggestion. I have checked and this add-on is available on Firefox and it works on Android version too. I tried this add-on and it really replace words that you blacklist with your chosen alternative word. So, @jackg, you definitely should try it.

Then buy a laptop. I guess it would permanently solve your problem. If you don't want to let them know what you do, then do not show and let them hand your phone and that is the end of the case.

I would love this feature too.  I think I have asked similar questions here or some other places without getting a satisfactory response.

There are certain words or phrases I would love  censored/changed on such browser. So that whenever the words is posted, the poster automatically get blocked, the word deleted or changed.
This feature should exist both for mobile and pc... would probably be easier on open source browsers?

I have a laptop. It's a bit to cumbersome and I can't go with a small one because slow computers annoy me...

I think firefox was fully open-sourced in around '95 so it should be easy if someone has the time on their hands and fancies doing this?

I've tested this on Firefox on Android and it does exactly what you want. You can configure specific words that you want either censored or substituted... you can whitelist certain domains etc... it seems to work quite well. I set "bitcoin" to be substituted with "Cryptographic Money"
