We, a group of 13 small cryptocurrency traders and investors, are very upset with the way the Cryptopia debacle was handled. It`s unsatisfying to see that a registered cryptocurrency trading platform, overseen by authorities, can handle things the way they were handled.
As authorities have failed to lead this debacle to a good end, we are now trying to gather the funds for an independent research, to lay the finger on the sore spots and to get Cryptopia to take their responsibility.
The funds received by people from the community will be used to set up a thorough investigation and take action accordingly.

We can hardly do anything as an individual, but many small donations combine into the amount which is needed to pull this off, so help us to acquire the funds needed to start and complete our investigation.

We will keep you updated about the progress on our Twitter page and Discord channel. We will act and perform according to the budget we receive, but the most important thing is that action will be taken to make sure a possible next debacle will be handled with better care.

Sincerely,

MajesticThirteen, A group of cryptocurrency investors and ex-cryptopia customers.

A newbie with 2 activities trying to convince people to donate so as to investigate an exchange which the authorities failed to do correctly.
It raises a red flag unless you by any means prove to be one of the huge traders of cryptopia who lost due to the exchange.

New Twitter. New Discord. New way to ask for money.
But as you are lying to get money from gullible people, it's not begging but it's a scam. It's not ethical to earn money for exploiting emotional state of people.

If authorities could not do a thing to a project, what would individuals do? Hire a Hitman? If you are really victim of the suspicious closure of the exchange, you should help in ongoing investigation rather than asking for funds to star your own.
If you really hold any credibility and has access to jurisdiction of cryptopia, you should prove yourself first.
You can't expect to achieve something being cryptier than cryptopia

I smell something wrong in this post. If you notice the account is only a newbie and only 2 post has already done? Then on this post asking for donation, There is a big possibility of scam and a possible one of multiple account of some people or organization. I hope no one will be a victim and I hope crypto industry will improve their security features.

I guess it is because of the recent pump on BTC price, so many ways of convincing people to earn some or you are a real person? What should I assume? You can disclose more info to verify your claim. I would probably be convinced and put a little.

We can understand your point of views in here. We want to unite the victims of Cryptopia. The basic thing is that a big group of people can do more than an individual. Instead of complaining on social media, we want to set up an independent investigation and even hire lawyers to give their view on the situation.
We could make ourselves public, but we chose to unite under the name MajesticThirteen since we believe a collective can do more than a few individuals. Donations are not required to fill in the form, they are asked for because they will expand the possibilities of our investigation.

Thanks for your points of critic, but please fill in the form if you are a victim in any way so we can inventorise.

By the way, right after our Discord meeting we set up a few accounts for this idea, we talked this through for a couple of days and sincerely believe we should do something about this madness. We are victims ourselves and if we are playing with anyone`s emotions, it`s our own emotions.

Sincerely,

MajesticThirteen

No one will start donate because first your account is new here and on first post asking donation. But anyway good luck, if possible you should find a lawyer who can act and sue cryptopia and pay to him at least 50% from what will get from cryptopia.

That will certainly be one of the main things funds will go to if we can gather enough support. First we have to see how much support and funds we can gather, then we will set up an extensive plan and gather all the evidence that`s needed.

For us, it`s more about setting up a collective from where we can operate. A central account that will lead the way into this investigation. We can certainly understand your point of few about the new account and I hope you can understand it better now. The collective is always more important, since results of this investigation (which will probably end up in a lawsuit) will be for all the affected users and projects also.

Thanks all for the input, we hope you appreciate this input also,

You have chosen what is not quite a good way to raise funds. On what basis should we trust you? How strange to ask us to donate money in this way.

We are seeking a way to unite all affected users and projects, behind this entity we named MajesticThirteen. The research and action has to rely on voluntary donations, because even with a small group, we don`t even come close to the amount that`s needed to set up a full scale investigation with lawyers and blockchain experts involved. This is a matter of the community, so we call on the community. It`s your choice if you think this is an odd way, which again, we can understand. In our opinion, setting up a central entity without getting individually involved is way easier for everyone. We`ve chosen this set up as for now, since a lot is still unclear and we just started. Your input is appreciated, because it will help us gather more support, maybe this explanation helps a little bit.

How will we set up our research?
1. Gather support and funds
2. Find a lawfirm that can and wants to handle this case
3. Hire external blockchain expert to confirm gathered evidence
4. Combine them into a big case
5. Information release through @MajesticThirte1 Twitter account and this Discord channel
6. Make research findings and results public

Again, we really don`t trust the way this will be handled by authorities. Even while operating anonymously now, we still believe we have a way better chance of setting up a decent investigation within a reasonable time. Months,  or even years, simply can`t be accepted in this case. They will certainly drag things out for years. Setting up an external investigation will even support the investigation from the authorities, perhaps even speed things up! We see a lot of people on social media saying they want to do something about this and so do we.

Sincerely,
MajesticThirteen

Clear goals are to get the user funds (at least from unaffected coins) released quickly, while also making sure to position as a creditor for projects that have paid certain fees to get listed on their exchange. These are two realistic goals and an external investigation also gives pressure to the already ongoing investigation by authorities. Operating from a single entity that, next to shareholders, has two of the most important interest groups in Cryptopia(projects and users) has a lot of positives. We can certainly understand the issues you feel about operating in this way, but by presenting a clear plan and being transparant with our intentions and information we hope to gather a lot of support.

If he is not a scammer, he should know better than this at this time that we have so many challenges in the ICO and not come up with a write up that really cannot be verified. What does he take people for? Fools?Well, I blame people that have fooled themselves into scammer’s hands, they now feel it is so easy to manipulate people and just easily steal their money.

I just hope that people are wise enough now not to fall prey to this new scam strategy, if the op is serious about this project, he should do better by registering a company that would just generally be handling ICO investigations since he feels he is good at it, then maybe people will be able to verify their authenticity through their registration.

LOL, and you think you will get far with this, has trust become so easy for people to just start donating into your account without even verifying who you are. If you are to succeed with this, you need to first be able to do KYC and show yourself to the people you are expecting donation from.

How do we confirm that you are not a scammer, and moreover, you are still expecting donation from people who has lost money through cryptopia liquidation because you don’t expect any form of donation from those that are not concerned. Anyway, I wish you best of luck on handling what you claim the authority could not handle, I wonder when you became a detective for you and your team to successfully investigate cryptopia.

We are not detectives in any way, but we can set up an investigation with external sources & experts that might shed another light on this case. As victims ourselves, we simply can not stand the fact that Cryptopia could have done a lot better in this situation.

The issue of raising a central entity to operate from is addressed enough I think, when and if we have some support and funds we will transfer them to a safe place as soon as we can, so it will be in the hands of a verified firm. We still need to find and hire a law firm that wants to take on this case though.

It is important to set up an investigation for 3 things.

1. Get user funds released
2. Not let Cryptopia get away with how this all is handled
3. Showing the cryptocurrency community is standing up against this kind of sudden exits, where no measures were in place like for example at Binance.
