At a point the team start given excuses to abide by what they promised to do or stop communicating with the community then I can sense the project is scam. How do you determine a project is gone bad and won't fulfil it promise? What criteria do you use ? or you wait for years thinking all will be well ?
Actually there are a lot of signs they are becoming a scam, seen when their team starts rarely active, does not provide clarity on the future of their project, rarely responds to investor questions at ANN Thread, most of that signs are visible when the end of the time of ICO
There are such projects that even at the stage of an ICO have such signs. but there are also a lot of people who continue to believe in these projects))   Undecided

Telegram community is very important place in every project because investors and hunters both of can communicate through telegram. If your any concern they ignored or banned you than it's something suspicious and if they promised broken or delay to explore project update i think those type of enough to detect fraud or scam project.

I am a member of many bounty companies and have repeatedly been deceived by unscrupulous people.  In most cases, I understand that the disappearance of the official groups of the company's telegrams, as well as the official websites of the company, is the real evidence of a fraudulent project.

Personally, I observe the social media activities and Telegram community also. Scam projects always ban or delete criticism chats. I also check if they liedabout their partnerships cause some project will upload fake partners just to attract investors.

Reading useless questions is boring on various telegram broadcast channels but there is no another way around to clear all that doubts. New investors flow to the twitter and telegram with the meaningless, same type of questions that answered a thousand times.

criteria that I use are usually based on roadmap if their roadmap is not implemented and always gives reasons behind it, I have been able to ensure that this project can be categorized as a fraud project, and also the one I meet most often is a team that is fictional. also, I was a little suspicious that it could be an indication of a fraud project, and finally the problem of token distribution most project scams usually send their tokens to addresses that do not have any transactions and after entering the exchange the volume is very alarming, it is also included in my list.

Sometimes, it becomes so difficult to know if a project is a scam from the beginning since the team will look so dedicated to the project. However, it becomes quite obvious when the ICO is ended and the team is required to develop the project. Usually I sense danger through the nature of communication on  their telegram group. They begin to appear once within a month and they always give an excuse of working on exchanges, etc

Actually, you said it all and that the strategy they normally use, that is they are working on their product or they traveled for a submit or blockchain event etc, while abandoning or keeping the community in the dark.
When they starts coming up with unsubstantial excuses, just know something is about to go down, the truth is a team working hard won't hesitate to share their success with the community members thus motivating the community while bringing more investors.

I realise it in a following way. They hide their faces, they don't answer all quastions about project and so on. For example they can sell team tokens before deadline

Usually if the team can handle much effort to show or display theit product more than focusing on token sale I can sense the project is legit. Yes, scam projects only care about the sales of their ICO and when you ask something about the product or execution of their roadmap they tend to response vague or will tell you that they will answer later. This is something you as a hunter must know and sense if the team give thr community accepted feedbacks.

In this case, indeed, from the outset the making of the projeck had another purpose to deceive many people and in my opinion this would give a considerable loss. many people have avoided investment in the absence of transparency.

As soon as different stories str coming up from the team other than the initial set road map for the project, no one need to tell you the project is turning to be scam. Another thing, some stop every communication with the community members leaving the group and all sort.

Oh well, this happens to me a hundred times, being a bounty hunter, i experienced a lot, almost 80% of the project that i did became scams, a lot of excuses they had, most specially ATHERO project, i thought it was the best one, because it was my signature campaign before, the was not communicating after the successful token sale, and for me, its the worst situation that is hard to deal with.Scammers will have their time, not now but maybe later.

There are mostly more than enough ways to realize that. Such type of projects mostly fail to give updated version of how the project is going. Handling their social media handles become a headache because there is poor control, poor information to get members noted and also you can sometimes recognize that their leaders all have their profiles as new members on the various platform.

This is one of the most common lately. But I think not all scam. Because sometimes there may be some delays for certain reasons.
As a response to your question, I can not give a clear reply, but as experience increases, you are more alert.
not all fraud and not all bad, so there are still opportunities for us if we want to try to look carefully.
everything here is at risk and we must be able to take risks so we must be vigilant and you must be prepared in any situation.

In the first place, its so hard to determine or distinguish if the ico project is a scam or not. Because most of them they can able to show some fake achievements of their project even in the volume they raise during their campaign. Probably, to find out if it is fraud or not if the team behind are not transparent and and not giving any updates to their community through telegram or other social media they have.

That should be ones you go through the project on first sight. That's is, going through the project; starting from the team to know their experience in that field, then checking online to confirm them.
Then going through the whitepaper to see what they are offering and if it is unique and feasible.
Then checking the community to see how active they have been, I think this should guide properly into knowing good projects.

Although most times it's hard to know, as some will pose real and will even present a good whitepaper, but I think that even at that there is need to check the team out thoroughly as well as the advisors to be sure they have the experience they claim to have.
Also, the objectives of the platform needs to be studied very well to be sure it is achievable and not hype. So I think if careful analysis is done at the onset it can be spotted if it's good project or not.

-When comunicate isn't conected by team, always inactive and offline without announcement anything 1 years.
-Team developing them project to become best future, when they won't able to do that, we have to ask what kind of future coin they want develop or just want our money.

Obviously if it doesn't have a product if its just a white paper you might think at first that it is very interesting. Secondly, if it have a high fund raising. Then, the most unfortunate in terms of payment. If they have a delay distribution of payment then forebode it because it will a promise that is everlasting.
