My wallet is not syncing...   I read the FAQ when it says to create a text file frumpycoin.config but I don't understand where I have to put it  Huh

OS X: /Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Application Support/GrumpyCoin

Where is that?? lol   I can't find "Users" etc *total noob*         is it in the Application Folder? where?
I assume you have some basic knowledge in OS X, try to follow these instructions:

How to find your hidden Library folder:
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11395

/Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Application Support/GrumpyCoin

Replace YOURUSERNAME with your name. Not sure about your name?
Click finder
shift+command+g
write
/Users
and go to folder, then check what is your name

Put your grumpycoin.conf file with content from http://www.grumpyco.in/faq/ in
/Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Application Support/GrumpyCoin
restart wallet.

Hello Grumpy fans,
some updates about upcoming wallet.

First tried upgrading to latest Litecoin code but so many changes and at the end nothing exciting for our grumpy holders so I decided to modify Megacoin wallet as it look way more interesting with frameless window and beautiful layout and heavy use of stylesheet and this wallet also has updated Litecoin and Bitcoin code. Megacoin has also done a really good developer job.

Network and coin parameters fixed and wallet is syncing until block 20465 where I get errors that I am investigating in the code as you can see in attached screenshot. I found where but takes some more time to debug.

Also showing here color identification of Megacoin wallet to be replaced with GrumpyCoin colors.
First window is changed to test but final colors and images will be decided later.
Megacoin wallet available here: http://megacoin.co.nz/downloads

Stay tuned!

New wallet is now syncing. The problem was:
Grumpycoin is using Kimoto Gravity Well (KGW) with a parameter changed in the diff calculation. The error only occurred at  the blocks after the forking of the wallet the old developer did to implement KGW and when there was a big diff fluctuation the during the first blocks after implementation. The "." is now corrected.

Megacoin
1 + (0.7084 * pow((double(x)/double(144)), -1.228));
Grumpycoin
1 + (0.7084 * pow((double(x)/double(14.4)), -1.228));

I have found other coin using value 28.2 instead of 144.
If you are good at math please let me know what is the difference.
We will use same network, coin and diff calculation parameters as before to avoid forking coin at the moment.
Will do some tests now!

Stay tuned!

Payment ideas for the GrumpyCoin community!

(Taking a break before continuing with the new wallet. New wallet is going to be big!)

Where would you like to be able to use your GrumpyCoin?

There are FEW sites accepting alt coins that might be interesting. Most looks suspicious mentioned by big hype coins and several have no payment solutions at all, they are just lying and to be able to pay you need to contact them or do manual payments.
Listing below some interesting meaningful web stores accepting alt coins. Don't know if they work but good ideas to start with.

www.bitgild.com
www.revolutionarysupplies.com
www.securevpn.to
www.cryptodechange.com

Who wants to use GrumpyCoins to buy Bitcoin stickers? NERDS AND GEEKS and not your mother. We need real life stores where you can invest something you can touch with your hands or just buy something you really need. Flowers for your mother. New real wallet for your father. VPN is good to have if you want US Netflix or like to have access to geo locked webpages. You can sell anything creating a GrumpyCoin payment solution or join existing.

I think it would be interesting to create osCommerce plugin or other shopping cart software. Then we have thousands of websites to promote our plugin, 12800 sites according to http://www.oscommerce.com.
OsCommerce is included in lots of website starter pack for beginners like this http://www.byethost.com/paid-hosting/paidfantasticofeatures that also offers free hosting.

Bitpay has open source for OsCommerce plugin at https://github.com/bitpay/oscommerce-plugin.
Coinpayment.net is down at the moment. Have to wait to see if they will recover with new owner.

I have seen lots of new alt coins using long list on coin announcements.
They fill long links with url to newly created or unknown stores so they look active and big. I suggest to stay with quality only and not quantity and concentrate on few good partners.

List of payment providers alt coin or Bitcoin only.
www.coinpayments.net
www.moolah.io
www.bitpay.com
www.litepaid.com
www.coinbase.com/merchants

Would like to have some input from Android users also (check also with Kro55 at this forum). I am IOS, OS X and Windows user and the only way on IOS is to use Jailbroken device at the moment to install native payment solutions, however web app is good enough solution at the moment! Check out our web app FlappyGrumpy game its pure HTML but installable as icon in IOS.

If you find any more quality website please let us know in the community!

Good job clarv, keep up the good work!!!

On a side note, cryptorush is down because of the blackcoin fiasco, and that was the only place where there were pretty big sell walls for grumpycoin. If all that is being wiped out, maybe we can expect a good rise in GRUMP when it's gonna be listed on Mintpal soon?

I'm sorry for the people that lost money on Cryptorush, but hey, as this community would say "lost money on cryptorush? GOOD, invest in grumpycoin now!!"  Grin

Dropped down to 4th now.

Keep voting people. Link in my sig.

thanks,
and thanks for the info. Info on twitter, you already guessed the message :-).  I am lucky I withdrew my coins before.
I recommend to hold your GrumpyCoins or don't sell them cheap and if you are a big holder you are welcome to participate to improve your investment. We have a press kit at www.grumpyco.in/press-kit you can use and your webpage will be promoted to a lot of people on twitter and other sites.

Thanks for your support!

New wallet ready for test!

This is an upgrade to latest Litecoin and Bitcoin code using latest Megacoin wallet source as base with GrumpyCoin adjustment. Old GrumpyCoin wallet was really old based on Litecoin 0.6.x with a mix of BitCoin and some traces of SmartCoin created by old developer. This a big upgrade and cleanedup version. There is no trace of other coin in code like all other coins who clone Litecoin in 5 min. This is GrumpyCoin wallet with a unique design created by a real developer!

Features:
Wallet is using frameless window and can use round corners and other effects.
GrumpyCoin network parameters. RPC test port is 45998. Not in old source.
GrumpyCoin coin parameters.
GrumpyCoin difficulty calculation, not same as Megacoin, Litecoin or Bitcoin. This is GrumpyCoin KGW with one parameter changed as before.
Updated transaction fee logic.
Faster sync.
Leveldb new faster database.
Translations corrected with correct coin name and port names.
Removed hardcoded old DNS seed server. Using servers from grumpyconf.conf
IRC servers updated and is used to get more nodes. Can be replaced when permanent nodes are configured.
Filenames and variables has grumpycoin names, not Bitcoin,Litecoin or Megacoin.
Corrected layout bugs from Megacoin source.
Font changes.
Color mapping, rgb and hex codes.
GrumpyCoin images.
I2P network connection not supported anymore.
Includes icns file corrected format for OS X.
and much more...

Beta wallet will be given to our team first and will be tested with blockexplorer, mining pool and solo mining.
It is using new leveldb database to store blocks. Don't think that is a problem as other coins are using same database nowadays.
If you use wallet with old GrumpyCoin folder new wallet take care of automatic upgrade.
Dont forget a backup of your wallet.dat as always.
RGB chart shows what colors are mapped with black number to the right. Several colors kept because they fit our color scheme.
