As far as I know KGW adjusts difficulty based on the last few blocks found. It doesn't stop 51% attacks, or TW attacks.

For you that missed chat on irc channel. Wallet is still not updated on broken-arrow.
We did a test with new wallet with all the other planned updates but got an error so we decided to make minimum changes on released 2.0 wallet.
This new wallet with minimum changes is ready now with KGW exploit fix, but would like mining pool to test first just to be sure. I am at irc channel grumpycoin if you like to install latest wallet on mining pool and block explorer server. Github has old 2.0 version now, will update when you are ready.
Block start for KGW exploit fix will be at 48300.
